Disneyland Solo for Teenager?

Hey :) My dad's company has an office in Anaheim and, of course, I want to tag along. He is trying to find someone to come with me, so the trip can happen. But there is a chance that he may not be able to find someone.

If the unthinkable happens, would you consider it safe for me (15) to travel to Disneyland alone from the hotel. It isn't a Disney resort (Shame on him, right? lol!). I'm very responsible and wouldn't put myself in any danger, and I'm tall enough and look older than I am. I know adults go on solo trips, but would you consider it safe for me to go alone? He would be there during the evening, so I would only be alone during the daytime. Thank you :)

I think that it is really your Dad's call on whether or not you should be able to go on your own and if you are responsible enough. I would say some things to consider would be how you would get there and how far away the hotel is. Maybe he could go with you or see you safely through security in the morning. I assuming you would have a cell phone so mandatory check ins would be a must.

You'll be fine. I used to get dropped off at Disneyland, starting at twelve years old. I'm still here, at twenty-one.

The parks sit right across from each other, and Downtown Disney is next to them. It's small, I don't see how you could get lost. You're fifteen, I believe you're old enough.

I agree that it would be your dad's call about whether you are fine on your own.

Getting to DLR could be by taxi or the Anaheim bus system. If his office is near the ART, you could also use that. Checking in with him via cell would be a great thing to offer, so that he can worry a little less. (Yes, he'll worry. Good parents do!)

You'll be able to use the Single Rider line on the attractions that have them -- meaning, a shorter line for you to wait in!

I've been in WDW by myself...heck I'm going down with a friend in January just us. Disney would allow it since you're 15 (their age, at least in WDW is 14). But as others have said, it's your dad's call. Personally, I don't think I would be comfortable with it unless you were with someone else your age or older, but I don't know you and it's not up to me.

My first question is whether you are a male or female... Sorry but if you are a girl I would have to say, no way. While Disney may seem like a safe place, Disney isn't perfect and the area outside of Disney isn't exactly free of crime. And even if you are a boy I would likely say no, though I might consider it if I was able to drop you off at the gate. I would be less worried about you once you were in the park than I would be of you getting to the park. I would say it might be a reason to stay at the California resort as you would then be pretty much safe at getting into California Adventure and once in very safe to get to Disneyland.

I'm a girl...at 15 I was going into Epcot by myself...when my parents were staying at Beach Club that is.

Any other park, they would have said no way!

Even with guys it depends on how big they are.

I started venturing WDW by myself when I was 14. I would imagine traveling inside Disneyland would be much easier since it really is all in walking distance whereas in WDW the only mode of transportation is buses and boats. But I always had my little brother to tag along with, but I'm pretty sure I could've handled it well on my own. I say go for it! Good luck, be safe, but most importantly, HAVE FUN!
