Disneyland Rooms sold out for early Oct 2015

What is going on at Disneyland on Oct 7th? I was looking for hotels checking in on the 3rd and out on the 9th and a lot is booked. Luckily, I already have a room booked but was looking to see if better deals would come out. Using the Disney Website I narrowed it down to Oct 7th. All of their Rooms are booked up on this day at PP and the DH. I was hoping I picked a not so busy time but with all the rooms booked I'm doubting it. Any idea what might be going on?

HalloweenTime is an EXTREMELY popular time of year. It's also common for people to buy MHP tickets and book a hotel room to crash in onsite. Weekends in October are blocked out for CMs and the parties typically sell out or come close to it. Nothing out of the ordinary, since the hotels typically run at 90%+ most of the year. Gay Days is also the first weekend of October, and there will be spillover from that.

Combine all of the above with the 60th, and sell out nights are going to happen at random times.

I guess there is no reason to look for a discount as the dates get closer. Staying at the Disneyland Hotel.
