Disneyland Resort Rehab Help

Hello! My Fiance and I, who just got engaged in Walt Disney World on March 12th , have an opportunity to go to the Disneyland Resort June 8th and 9th. She has never been and I have only been once so we were pretty excited until I did some research about all the rehabs going on. I see that both Cars Land and the Matterhorn will not open until June 15th. Does anyone know the chance of a soft opening for either of these two? It is literally 7 days before the official opening on June 15th so I am hoping that at least the Matterhorn will have a soft opening by then but I could be completely wrong. Anyone have any insight or educated guesses on the possibility of either of these two attractions/lands having a soft open a week early? Thanks!

Al Lutz has said that Cars Land will have ticketed previews for Cast Members only at that time, and then only a few days of Annual Passholder previews from about June 10th to the 12th. Then on the 13th Cars Land gets "locked down" again for a celebrity party, and on June 14th Disney California Adventure is closed entirely to the public (the whole park is shut down) for a media event and Grand Reopening and Rededication of the park on June 15th.

Al Lutz had this info months ago and stuck to it, and only recently has Disney announced that the opening dates and closure of the park is actually happening the way Lutz said it would. The point is... I wouldn't expect anyone except ticketed Cast Members to be able to get into the land on June 7th or 8th. http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al022112a.htm

As for Matterhorn, they've likely picked June 15th as the opening for a reason; to balance out the crowds on June 15th when Cars Land opens.

Disneyland does things differently than WDW. At WDW they often have weeks or months of "soft opening" prior to an official grand opening. At Disneyland they are more literal and honest with their opening dates. If they say Cars Land opens on June 15th, it's not wise to expect soft openings for the general public before that.

Congrats on the engagement!

As for Matterhorn 2 of the 3 refurbishments it had in 2011 it reopened a day or two before the scheduled dates. A week might be pushing it though the current refurbishment is quite a major one.
