Just a little correction there, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be reopening March 4th. Good thing it'll be open when I visit DLR during my spring break (originally a summer trip, but spring break would be a better time), but sadly Indy Jones won't be.

"Officially" it is not. Disneyland is not setting any official dates for the reopening of Big Thunder Mountain. The March 4th date is what managers were spreading around, and from what I understand it is the date they are shooting for. But it is by no means announced officially.

The official Disneyland website does not list BTMRR under any refurbishment list after March 3rd, so wouldn't that mean it should open?

Hopefully, yes! But in refurbishment dates given out to Cast Members, it is still being listed as TBD, as mkt's original post states.

BTMRR wasn't open when I was there in December, I was just wondering if it was similar to the one in Disneyworld, or faster pased, or maybe a different track layout.
For those of you lucky enough to ride both, could you fill me in.

I, personally, am of the opinion that the ride itself is very similar. It's about the same speed, with similar track features (although definitely not the same layout).

I will have to second Kirsten on that accessment. 95% of the ride is the same; same feel, same speed, and same concept. The layouts are a bit different but basically the same ride.

Yup! One of the guys who plays a dwarf also posted on his website that soft openings could start as early as Feb 9, as well!

And when are the AP previews? I know we get reserved seating the 23rd-27th at one show a day, but are there previews before that?

Got a Big Thunder update here. Someone over at IntercotWest pointed out that BTMRR had actually been on the refurb list under DCA by accident, but it appears that has been fixed. The new rumored opening date is March 10, and the refurb schedule on disneyland.com reflects this.
