Disneyland park tickets expiration options

Hello, awhile ago I asked WDW what would happen if I purchased tickets and for some reason we could not go in that calendar year....this was before they had you purchase for specific days. I was told if I could not go in that calendar year, I could call and exchange the proceeds paid towards a Disney Gift Card.

SO am considering/planning to go to Disneyland for first time in 2020. I see that they expire one year from purchase...does anyone here know or have had experience with gift card replacement in case of not going within one year being an option at DLR? I plan to call later on, but thought I would throw this out there, want to purchase before price increase....:angelic:

WDW chat person said that you can save the unused ticket to upgrade for future use even after it expires. So just pay price increase and get new tickets generated. I cannot get a chat person for DLR right now, seems they are all busy.

Never heard of a Gift Card in Anaheim. What Guest Services has said, they will honor the purchase price amount towards an equal or higher Admission Media.

For example, you bought a multi-day ticket for $299 in 2019, and it has expired. The one you want is currently $314. They will give you the credit, and would want $15 to cover the difference.

Good to know, hopefully I won't have to use this but best to cover ones investment. The CM that told me that a couple years ago might have been mistaken anyhow. Since no magicbands are at DLR do most people who are not passholders hang on to printed out ticket or use phone for ticket access? Always had hard credit card tickets prior to magicbands at WDW....new learning curve!

You can use either, but I prefer just to use the app. One less thing to lose. If you purchase your tickets on the website under your account, then log into your account on the app your tickets should show up there anyway, so you can print out the tickets on paper or use the app at that point. Then you can use the app to get your Maxpasses if you want them.

Thanks! Yeah I use the app at WDW for wait times and fastpasses...its all on magicband but you can't "see" it...was reading in unofficial Disneyland that their LINE app was better at predicting posted and actual wait times....but since with maxpass you are on Disney app anyhow why consult two apps?!?! Guess I would print out paper copy to have on hand in purse in case wifi was funky. :angelic:
