Next step on our adventure through Disney's Worlds of Fantasy incoming! Today's area of focus is going to be
Full overview for reference:
In the heart of this Meditterranean Outpost, adventure alongside our great hero Hercules through this beautiful ancient Greek land. Tread carefully, as there are mischevious mysteries around every corner...
As you may have noticed, Worlds of Fantasy has been designed with a three-directional pathway from the Riviera entryway that allows guests to choose the adventure they wish to embark upon. Each of these end in an intersection which forks off in to other directions. The idea here is that guests can feel like they can get 'lost in the adventure' but can also easily find their way back at any point. Located on the bridge between the Land and Water intersections lies the Meditterranean Outpost.
I have always wished for a Hercules-themed area within the parks. Greece has such a rich culture and history that no other Disney park has tackled the challenge of representing so far. Plus, in my opinion, Hercules is one of the most criminally under-rated Disney properties. The opportunity to integrate these (in the current IP-driven Disney trend) in a more comprehensive way than just plonking Hades in to a villain section of the shows is immense.
Area listing:
C1: Rotunda of Selene (Hercules, Megara and Pegasus M&G)
A majestic Rotunda dedicated to the Greek Goddess of the moon, Selene. This is a serene and calming stop, where you can also meet Hercules and Megara at set times. Here, we would experience some fantastic Disney design, where once a day you can also meet the wonderful Pegasus, designed with wonderful puppetry.

C2: Peripéteia Market (Retail)
A mid-size store where guests can purchase various greek and Hercules souvenirs (think of the possibilities - Hercules sandals!!!)

C3: Pythia Falls (Photo Op and food carts)
A stunning waterfall feature dedicated to Pythia, otherwise known as the Oracle of Delphi. This would be a fantastic photo op and would feature some small seasonal market-carts selling small trinkets and Greek foods - halloumi everything!
There would also be a bronze statue honoring Pythia that would talk to guests at certain points throughout the day (in the same vein as the mystic fountain at IOA).

C4: The Temple of Helios (Quick service)
A large quick-service dining location located within a historic temple honoring Helios, God of the Sun. There would be a large amount of seating available both internally and externally. Typical Greek cuisine would be served here.

C5: Pain & Panic's Terror Trial (Skinned Zamperla Disko)
Perhaps a controversial pick due to Disney's aversion to any 'flat ride' other than your typical spinner, this would be a heavily themed ride. The mischevious Pain and Panic challenge you to complete their trial to prove your worth as a credible hero. On-ride audio would feature comedic jabs at the guests. It would be placed with water flanking the attraction either side and interactive fountains that could (potentially) spray guests with little blasts of water during the hot Summer months.

C6: Pegasus Flight School (Skinned Zamperla Super Air Race)
Perhaps an even more controversial pick than the last, this ride would allow you to experience a ride on the back of pegasus as you soar through the sky on a high-speed adventure. An intermediate ride for thrill seekers.

And this would round out the Meditterranean Outpost. Two rides, two experiences, a store and a dining location. A small land in comparison to the others, but it would pack a strong punch and allow continuity and a bit of respite between the larger areas within the park. It would also feature heavy vegetation (like most of the rest of the park) giving that 'lost in the wilderness' feeling that Animal Kingdom so fantastically produces.
There would also be the opportunity to add a small amphitheatre, in a future expansion, between the Temple of Helios and Pegasus' Flight School. This could perhaps be a puppetry-based open-air theatre show narrated by the Muses.
