Anyone heard this?

I just read in article which is a little old but anyway.......

I read Disneyland will be coming to Israel in the next years...

But they probably re-scheduled because of the Palastinian

conflict.. I would love another park!!! That would make six

Parks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: this is no rumour... this isn't some internet **** this is from

a newspaper saying they signed a contract with a company

(can't remember who)

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Im not sure of its population but are there enough people in Israel to warrant a park. Cant see such an American instatution being a big draw to people from neighbouring lands, even if they were allowed access to Israel. But If someone else is funding it a'la Tokyo who knows.

No never. This would be huge culture change for Disney. - That's for sure. There would be no staff there on a Friday night and Saturday. Israel is perceived as not being the safest of countries, I can't imagine people going to Israel to visit Disney.

As others have said this simply would not happen, if i did it would probably last less than a week. There is too much hatred of Western society in that area of the world and I know Disney have made some mistakes before they wouldn't make this one.

I'm thinking in a few more years when the peace process is finished....

It makes a lot of sence though because they don't have a park in that area of the world...

The only way a Disneyland could ever be built near Israel is on a "glass parking lot" in Palestine:rolleyes:

There will never be peace, for my two cents probably the best idea is building a wall between the country like the Berlin Wall.

Either that or Israel buys a sizable chunk of land or an island and everybody moves....

Disney-ISLAND?

Disneyland Saudi Ariba was being considered but that was the closest thing, but that even will now never happen because all the sheiks now go to Disneyland Paris, so there is no point to try to harness the money in this area.

I think it's actually an option...

This would bring much more tourists into the Middle East area...

And there is no disney resort anywhere near this area...

I know in order to get more profits you need to expand but i just think that disney is going overboard with these oversees parks, japan is good-opposite side of the world so is paris but hong kong, stupid commis

I think it is going to be a long time before the middle east is perceived as a safe place that most tourists would even consider visiting and I highly doubt that Disney would see it as their responsibility to go over there and change that perception.

Considering all the conflict that went into the decision to put the section on Israel in the Millennium Pavilion in Epcot (and I think this was actually before the current Israel/Palestine conflict) I wouldn't expect anything any time soon.

I would say that it is not by accident that there is no Disney resort anywhere near that area and I don't exactly think that putting one there is going to get people to head over from the Americas or Europe or Asia when there are closer parks in what is perceived to be much safer locations... Safety aside, Israel isn't really seen in the most positive light throughout the world either.

Just because you read something that was an 'article' that doesn't make anything in it more truthful than a rumor. Not all journalists are honest or go through the trouble of getting accurate information in all cases.. There are for instance, several Internet sites that commonly produce 'articles' about behind the scenes things from Disney that I would put no stock in whatsoever.

and plus you can forogt about Middle East peace happening any time soon and Disney building anywhere in the middle east because it won't happening as much as you would like it too, it won't. Stop dreaming. BUt then again if Disney gets Bin Laden and Hussein's blessing maybe the park will be a safe place.

I know it is probley far fetched, but wouldnt it be cool if they put Jasmines castle there, i mean, that would sorta make sense, and it would look soo cool!!! and insted of main street they had like a Market place and fire eaters or somthing. lol i dunno

I know it sounds a little far fetched but maybe they are thinking of putting a small resort which doesn't depend on so much visitor? Like the Universal park in Spain? What I know is I'm not keeping any hope for this project...
