Let's hear it for five decades of lines and inflated beverage prices! The Magic conglomerate, er, Kingdom spared no expense in an attempt to bring the proper mix of pomp and circumstance to Disneyland's 50th anniversary celebration. Board members and other VIPs mixed with Mickey and Donald before the costumed characters were presumably sent out into the field to entertain camera-toting tourists. What can we tell ya? The front lines of family entertainment are never a pretty sight. Naturally, many Mouseketeers unable to attend the festivities followed along online. Searches on "Disneyland rides," "Disneyland anniversary," and "Disneyland 50th" all took a fast-pass in Search.

Related (kind of) to the fireworks in Anaheim was news of a different sort. It seems that when a group of celebs were asked which Disney character they identified with most closely, Goofy got the most votes -- this according to a highly scientific poll of 45 moderately famous stars. Funny, with all the egos and tempers running rampant in Hollywood, we'd have predicted the easily agitated Donald to be the walk-off winner. In any event, searches on half-dog, half-man Goofy rose 36%.

Of course, Disneyland is but one of Uncle Walt's parks, and Goofy is but one of his characters. We've ranked the top searches in each field to give you an idea how Disney's various creations stack up in the Buzz.
