Disneyland in April?

Hey there,

We are thinking of planning a trip to Disneyland in mid-end of April and I was just curious to know if anyone has experienced large crowds over this period of time?

The end of April the crowds are not heavy…around the 20th is when most schools are back in session.


Edit: I just checked the Disneyland Calendar, starting on the 24th, Disneyland is scheduled to close at 7 p.m…this gives a good indication when crowds calm down.

Thanks, Stranger! I'm a WDW vet... but it is always better to hear it from a local. I figured if I could get employee rates it couldn't be TOO busy!

Excellent choice. Easter is April 16th this year, so the second and third weeks of April will be the busiest. Once Disneyland is no longer open until Midnight 7 days a week, the crowds will die down.

Moral of the story; avoid the two weeks surrounding Easter Sunday to miss the worst of the crowds. Early May is delightful for weather and crowds, plus the popular 2Fer1 ticket offer for SoCal locals also expires April 27th which will also lessen crowding at both Disneyland and DCA.

Quick question, sorry if it's a bit off topic. You mention early May being a good time to go. How's mid May? I'm going to DLR the week of May 13 (either May 15-17 or May 14-16, haven't finished planning days). Will crowds be light then too?

Ack! I just checked back and the hours have been extended for April. Now they are open until 10:00pm during the week and until midnight on the weekend!

I'm thinking that is bad news... :lookaroun
