Disneyland Hotel Fairytale Suite Review

I recently had the privilege of staying in the Fairytale Suite at the Disneyland Hotel & wanted to write a review giving readers as much information as possible to make a well informed decision on whether the suite is worth the cost. I tried to keep it brief, but I’d be glad to provide more details.

So first and foremost: the price. Our 1 night weekday stay in August cost $1,100. There was no discount applied, & I would assume the price will fluctuate between seasons & weekend/holidays.

So what do you get for your money? Of course the suite itself, access to the E-Ticket Club, valet parking & bell services, access to your own VIP coordinator, & priority viewing for all shows. I’ll review each perk as we experienced them.

Valet & Bell Services: They speak for themselves & help enhance the experience, but obviously nothing extra special.

E-Ticket Club: The E-Ticket club is a private area on the top floor of the Adventure tower set up for breakfast & a variety of snacks throughout the day. The first thing that struck me was the amazing view. Panoramic views of Disneyland, Downtown Disney, & California Adventure were impressive & made for a great atmosphere to sit, eat, and relax. The club itself isn’t much more than a hotel lounge, but I did feel a sense of being in an exclusive area. The breakfast was limited (no Mickey waffles) but reasonable. The snacks were good but nothing over the top (no Mickey bars). There were a few small appetizers that looked good but didn’t suit my pallet (stuffed mushrooms & spring rolls). Drinks included Coca-Cola products, water, & juices. Evening and dessert drinks included an assortment of wine, sparkling wine, & beer. The club was a great perk to have, & it was right next door to the suite which made it super convenient. However, IMO it did not justify the price. I was also disappointed in the behavior of some guests in the lounge. I won’t go into specifics here. We had the option to add this service to our other room for $125 & didn’t think twice about passing it up.

VIP Coordinator/Priority Viewing: Of all the perks, this was the best. As soon as we got to the front desk we were greeted by the VIP coordinator who took us to the E-Ticket Club to handle our check-in, show us around, & answer any questions we had. It really felt like a VIP experience to check-in at the club overlooking the resort. Our first impression was exactly what you would expect from Disney. If you are staying at Disneyland for the first time the VIP coordinator would play a large role in answering questions & making sure everything was taken care of for your stay. Since we already knew the ropes & made reservations etc., we mostly used our coordinator to arrange the priority viewing. Guests get priority viewing for each day you’re in the suite, including check-in and check-out days. So even though we only stayed one night, we got two days’ worth of priority viewing. Priority viewing is for all daytime and nighttime shows & parades & can be used for multiple shows per day. We used this perk for Aladdin, World of Color, & Disneyland Forever/Paint the Night. For Aladdin we were allowed to enter the theater before the general public, giving us first pick of seats without waiting in line. The biggest advantage was for the night shows. After spending years waiting/standing 1-2 hours for a good spot to watch WoC & the fireworks, priority viewing blew us away. We arrived at the reserved area 15 minutes before the start of the shows, sat on benches in perfect viewing areas & watched the show right from our seats. Image, not even having to stand up & still getting a perfect view! Again, we were completely blown away. The reserved seats were never full so there was no pressure to arrive early. As far as I can tell, the only way to get into these viewing areas is by booking a VIP tour guide or staying in one of the signature suites. The only down side is you’ll never want to watch the shows from anywhere else again.

The Suite: Its lavish, the views are incredible, & it feels even larger than it looks in pictures. If the suite was only the bathroom & you had to sleep in the tub I would’ve been satisfied. The bathroom is like a personal spa. We started by steaming in the schvitz, followed by a soak in the jetted tub. The fixtures were top notch & the extras like the tile mosaic & twinkling vanity were amazing. We put classical music on low (Disney music of course) & let it play our entire stay. Very elegant & perfect for the Fairytale Suite. Only down side… your significant other will probably want a bathroom remodel when you get home.

The rest of the suite is just what you would expect. It was a very special experience that, for us, made it worth every penny spent. Only down side… you’ll probably want to stay there again next time.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. I've always been curious about the Signature Suites. I didn't know the suites came with extras. Again, thank you for sharing!

Very detailed and thoughtful review. Maybe one of these days I'll be fortunate enough to experience it too!

The additional perks made a big difference, particularly the priority viewing. Short of being a Club 33 member I couldn't image a better way to experience Disneyland, especially to celebrate something special with your significant other.

One more note I'd like to add: We also got a quick walk through tour of the Pirates Suite which is across the hall from the Fairytale Suite. While the size of impressive and the quality was top notch, the detail and theme didn't seem up to par with the Adventure or Big Thunder Suite. Given the choice, Adventure Suite would be my first pick!
