Mentioned this quickly in the Parking Structure/4th Hotel discussion/updates thread.

But a "news organization" that is nationwide but is treated as a local source, you find the Disney is Evil theme, along with others like the OC Weekly and Orange Juice Blog we get this...

Every single person I ran into throughout my neighborhood walk along West Vermont Avenue in Anaheim, near the intersection of Ball Road and Harbor Boulevard, told me that the Disneyland fireworks shows are a constant irritant.

In fact, the complaints were eerily similar to what Kring said about the Fourth of July incidents.

Numerous people told me their dogs regularly go crazy when the nightly bombardment from the Magic Kingdom starts.

Others told me the fireworks wake up babies and make it tough to get toddlers to sleep.

Windows rattle and family frames on walls move around on a regular basis.

Yet it’s tough to get a really good sense of the impact — until you stand on a nearby residential balcony nearby when the Disney fireworks show goes off.<<

Much more at the link.

Sounds like these people shouldn't have moved so close to an entertainment venue that's been famously shooting off fireworks regularly for about 60 years.
Unless they owned their home prior to 1955 they probably don't have a leg to stand on. I bet they all love what living near such a big entertainment destination has done for their home values though.

This^^^

We have a small airport in the middle of what is now a residential area here in Jacksonville that has been there I think since about a year after the Wright Brothers had their first flight(I know it had been open since at least the 1940's) and people complain about it endlessly.

Curious - does Disney have a way of measuring the amount of income / attendance the fireworks show brings in? I believe it would in some ways make the big suits happy knowing they're saving 10's of thousands of dollars on fireworks every night, because the whiny locals complained. It gives them an excuse.

I remember hearing it was a million per show. I could be completely wrong.
