I am about 5'9 and approximately 290-295 pounds.

I am just wondering if I will have any problems fitting into any of the rides at Disneyland or DCA. Thanks in advance for any advice given :)

You shouldn't have a problem, though I'd advise you to not sit in the front seat for Matterhorn. I'm convinced the first seat is for little kids and adults really shouldn't try to squeeze in, unless they're small.

Here's Matterhorn, in case you're wondering what the heck I'm talking about:

Autopia can be a little tight, but you shouldn't have a problem:) The only attraction I would say you should avoid is Gadget's Go-Coaster in Toontown. That ride is NOT for adults, but for small children. The seats are so small and one barely has any room, if you're not five feet or less. You're not missing out on anything on that ride anyway.

You should be fine!:)

Welcome! When exactly are you going to the DLR?

I'm heading to WDW on Feb 24 with my brother and then he will head back to Sydney on March 1 as he has to start university and I will head onto LAX and Anaheim for a few days :) At least that is he plan anyways lol

Oh ok, then you'll be there for Indiana Jones! I was hoping you weren't going this year because Indy is closed right now.

For some reason the timing of our holiday seems to be perfect for everything lol. I keep noticing that too. FLE will be open when we go to WDW, Test Track should be reopened at Epcot, a few of the rides are closed atm at Universal which I am planning on going to but will be open by December, a number of rides are closed at DLR which will be open by Feb next year aka Storybook Canals and as you mentioned Indiana Jones. It's seriously almost perfect timing. Like this holiday I've been dreaming about as long as I can remember in my almost 26 years of life is going to go just right

Shhhh don't give away my secrets lmao. I'm only trying to find out EVERY single thing I can before I go. I am seriously obsessing over this trip :)

And some people on one site might not be on another and have the answers I need so :p lmao

It's a good thing you're researching now, especially since you don't have an idea as what any Disney resort is like. Do as much research and ask as many questions as possible! I won't say anything;)

lmao at first when I sent my post I was worried if you would think I was being rude in my post about "hush" etc. I am so used to joking around like that with my best friends. Glad you realized I was joking around lol

I'm 6'2" 325. I fit on everything I tried to ride (did not try autopia). One other suggestion, don't do seat 6 on Tomorrowland side of Matterhorn. I was feeling beat up. Seems like seat 3 is the best for a large person.

Have you ridden on the new sleds at the Matterhorn (sometime this summer)? I remember hearing from Al that they would not be as spacious for big people as the old ones.

I rode them a couple of weeks ago. i was in seats three and six. I did not really have problems getting in and out of them myself. Seat one and four look a little cramped. Even more so than WDW's Space Mountain. But there is just no padding. So it can be a little rough in some places.

I am 6'2" 280lbs. at the minimum. I look like a football player and wouldn't look out of place on the front line at an NFL game. Big everywhere. Broad shoulders. Long legs. Big waist, nice sized stomach. Tall too.

That being said, I fit on everything fine. My wife (a normal sized 5'5" woman) and I doubled up on everything. I know someone said not to go on Gadget's Coaster above me but I went on it with her in the same car! A little tight, but we were comfortable. Autopia? We both fit in there fine. A little tight, but not squished. Space Mountain? That's always a tight one regardless of being at Disneyland or WDW but I was fine there. Maybe even better at DL since there is the double seat. My wife sat in on that one too.

There is only one ride that might be hit or miss. The Matterhorn, and I can personally vouch that it is tight. I sat on the end. It was fine as far as width wise, but my knees were kissing the back of the other seat. It really came down to having long legs because that was the problem. It was my legs, not my width. They just recently renovated it and I often wonder why they couldn't find a way to alter the seats a bit, but it seems they didn't. Either way, I still fit in there but if I got a leg cramp I was screwed. Despite a rocky ride I didn't get hurt despite being in there tight. So you're 5'9". I don't think you'll have an issue with the length. There is only one way to find out.

Disney is hardly a "bush league" park. They have the foresight to realize Americans are the biggest people in the world. This isn't a Six Flags park or an economy class flight. Their rides accomodate everyone.
