Disneyland after six years

I went to Disneyland for the first time in six years yesterday.

I got to Disneyland about 10am yesterday and checked the stand by time for ROTR. It was 2 1/2 hours. I bought a lightning pass for it and 30 minutes later I was riding. Later last night the stand by was 50 minutes so I rode it a second time. I'm floored by that ride. I was majorly impressed. It was worth the $20. On the other hand, I had to wait an hour in stand by for Haunted Mansion Holiday since the girl handling the switch between standby and lightening pass was doing 30 lightening pass to 5 stand by. The Falcon was good as long as you get to drive. Otherwise, I just held down the fire button and watched. The screen was kind of dark but everything was pretty.

Got in the cantina a couple of times but kept missing my reservation. The food was good. The non-alcoholic drinks were nice. The alcoholic drinks are serious over priced at $16-18 is robbery. Good thing I don't drink. The food quality was better in GE than most of the park. It was a weird shift leaving GE and entering Disneyland. It felt like going to a different world.

The rest of the day, I did pretty much everything. Lightening pass made the standby lines go fast for smaller rides but stopped the holiday overlay rides. I did Space Mountain and Big Thunder on stand by in half the posted time since the lightning pass line wasn't jumping.

The Genie+ app is completely worthless. It keeps trying to send me where I don't want to go. It is poorly organized and still relies on the web site. It feels thrown together.

It will be a few years before I go back.

Did you get to check out the new Rivers of America? From the Train or the Mark Twain?

What did you think about the most celebrated addition to Disneyland in the last six years: The Hungry Bear sign?
