Disneyland After Dark—the after-hours park experience—will celebrate all things from a galaxy far, far away during Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite on Aug. 27!*** Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite will take place on the opening night of Star WarsCelebration, which is the ultimate Star Wars fan convention hosted at the Anaheim Convention Center Aug. 27-30.

Star Wars Nite is a separate ticket evening event in Disneyland park featuring unique entertainment, special food, one-of-a-kind photo opportunities, collectible merchandise and more, including:

• Exclusive after-hours access to Disneyland park, with access beginning at 6 p.m.
• Special entertainment, including a special Star Wars-themed fireworks spectacular, galactic dance parties, character encounters and more!
• Enhanced décor, event merchandise and inspired food and beverages.
• Immersive Star Wars-themed photo opportunities.
• Unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos taken during the party.

Went to the first one. It was of course oversold and character pictures basically ruined your whole night since 1 or maybe 2 is all the time could permit and you would be waiting in line for most of it. Only good part was the fireworks. I think I'll pass on this one unless something magical is added.

The focus should be on creatively re-evaluating Star Wars...forgoing the cheesy upsells would be preferable

It's one night...I'd be more concerned if they were trying to sell us multiple SW weekends.

They haven't done Star Wars weekends at WDW in years.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they came back...

The thinking behind that is that it would be “so big” that promoting only some weekends would cause some sort of gridlock.

Correct...should have said "had" but my point still stands, there is a history of doing multiple events at WDW and they are still doing SW fireworks on a nightly basis + a SW dessert party + jedi training.
