Starting May 9 2013 new or modified reservations for June 24 2013 onwards will be required to provide a credit card for reservations at table service restaurants. If their reservation is not canceled at least one day in advance, or if the guest does not show, a $10 per person charge will be made to the credit card on file.

I don't know if missed/skipped reservations are a big deal at DL or not - but I was/am ALL-FOR it at WDW.
I hope Disneyland picks the most popular restaurants like WDW did and doesn't require credit card everywhere. I picked a random date like 60 days out when WDW first announced their policy (so it hadn't actually taken effect yet), and pretty much the only restaurants that didn't have availability were the ones that required a guarantee. It really was needed at WDW. Does DL really have problems with this?

About the only restaurant in DL where reservations are almost a necessity is Blue Bayou. Even there, if you don't care what type table you get, reservations aren't needed. (If you want a waterfront table, though, and it's summertime or a weekend: get a reservation!)
