Wouldn't it be nice to have crowds like that today?

BTW- I would say the pictures are fake because of the very high quality, but the guy shooting video in the striped pants authenticates them.:lookaroun

I was wondering the exact same thing. I think perhaps the pinkish hue was there, but the color on the photo was a little off. It was taken in 1971, afterall.

It could be partly the age of the slide and the top of the castle is a little washed out. If you look carefully at the tallest spire there is a pinkish hue to it, especially in the shadows.

I remember a lot about the park in the 70s, but I sure don't remember the color of the castle! :(

Thanks for the comments - I'm really happy with the quality of these slides. The scanning has been fun. I'll keep my eye out for more from the 70s, we went quite a bit. I'm working on a series from 1965 now that are also interesting.

When my GF and I started going to WDW I told her about the DL "arcade" - I always remember going in there to watch the little 1-cent movie machines, the old wooden "baseball" arcade games, and a bunch of the other antiques they had. It looks like the same movie boxes have migrated to parts of WDW but the ones I've tried haven't worked

Great picture, once again!

Eww, the castle lacked a lot of color back then. I like the pink it has now.

What I'd give to have the park that empty now...

Without splitting the slide mountsI really don't know for sure. I have a lot of film from the 60s-80s that are labeled "Kodachrome", but these are all in fairly generic slide mounts that only say "color transparency" on them. My guess is they're Ektachrome but If they're E6 they've lasted really well, I didn't have to do much fiddling with the color.
