Disneyland 1/2 Marathon

Hi! My husband and I are going to be heading out to Disneyland Sept. 15-18th to run the inaugural 1/2 marathon. This will be our first trip to Disneyland (heading down to Florida for our annual Walt Disney trip in 15 days!!!!). Anyway, I read on www. visionsfantastic.com that California Screamin' is going to be closed down for refurb while we're there for the race!! I'm so bummed because it's closing only a few days before the race! I'm hoping they wait till after the race weekend because there are going to be a lot of tourists down there then. Also - to make me even more upset - the Haunted Mansion will also be closed for the holiday overlay!! Anyway - just curious if anyone else is heading down.

We will be down there during that same time - but not running the race. I hate to disappoint you further, but the Matterhorn is also rumoured to be going down for that time and the monorail as well in order to finish the Nemo subs construction for Spring 07.

Even though there will be a lot of tourists, I'm told that post-Labour day is still considred the "off-season" and rides will be down for refurb. So count us in the upset pool too!
