Hello everyone!

Just thought I'd drop by and say hello really quick.

I actually rediscovered this website and decided to join in especially since a Disney trip may be in my future (fingers crossing) for early 2014.

Thank you for everyone's wonderful info sharing and experiences. I love reading all about it.

Welcome to the forum! I hope that the 2014 trip works out for you.

The Red Sox are currently in first place in the AL East during the All Star break, in case you were wondering.

Hello, @Disney80! I hope 80 is the year of your first visit to WDW, rather than the year of your birth, because that would make me old.

Good luck with your 2014 planning, lots of good info here at WDWMagic!

Are they really? I haven't been paying attention. Good for them. About when do you figure they'll collapse? :)

Haven't-been-paying-attention. Can those words be used together in reference to baseball? My wife is an educator, so I'll have to check with her.

Dude, I think I heard that tonight is the All Star Game. Is Derek playing? I don't think so. Therefore it's a non-event for me. LOL

Fourth place?? That's godawful. Serves them right. Cashman has taken full responsibility for the rushed return, letting the Steinbrenner boys off the hook. Really, though, broken ankle on a 39-yo shortstop? Quad injury is so absolutely from him trying to protect the ankle. He's gotta hang it up. I love the guy, I was at his first Opening Day in 1996, but it's done. Go out gracefully. Where's Nomar these days?

BTW, @Disney80, we're glad you've joined us, and we hope you like baseball!!!

Nomar works for ESPN. I think that Jeter still has some baseball playing days left in him (IMHO). They just panic-rushed with him this season.

No-mahhhhh. :) And whats-her-name--Mia Hamm! Are they still married? (sorry, girl here)

Yeah, maybe DJ does have some time left as a DH. Considering his career though, why go out as a DH? Where he can sorta fade into the sunset. Why not go out with all those full-bore, throw myself into the stands plays, hey I'm gonna be 40 (me, I'm gonna be 50 this month!) so it's time to call it quits. I don't want to see him, and I don't thing HE would want to, turn into a Bernie Williams situation.

Isn't it interesting, in the last decade, how many players have made the transition from Red Sox to Yankees? Two teams who supposedly hate each other. God, I remember when Wade Boggs came to NY. Roger Clemens (I SPIT on him, really, couldn't stand him), Johnny Damon (loved him), now Kevin Youkilis (and I know I'm missing a first baseman). The rivalry maybe ain't what it used to be, and I think maybe Boggs is to "blame" for that.

I don't buy into the rivalry as much as others, and I'm not very much of a rabid Yankees hater, although I wish them no good at all. Hey, I'll be fifty this month also. Perhaps our parents held a contest or something back then.

That must be why we get along so well. :D

Sadly for you, it is the year of my birth ;) My first trip was in 1987 and my most recent one was in 2008.

Have a nice day and thank you for the warm welcome!

Actually, I miss baseball. We used to have a team (Montreal Expos now Washington Nationals) and I used to go on a regular basis.

Hello there. Welcome!

In case you were wondering, the Orioles had five players attend the All Star Game, three starters and one reserve who played, plus an additional player in the home run derby (Chris Davis, ever heard of him?;)). The American League won the All Star Game. They hold their spot at third, which is fine since they are still ahead of the Yankees.

Also, my second favorite team are the Washington Nationals
