from the Orlando Sentinel:
The Central Florida YMCA and Walt Disney World announced plans on Thursday to build two child-care centers for Disney employees on resort property.
With nearly 50,000 square feet between them, the centers will accommodate 648 children at a time, more than doubling the size and capacity of the resort's existing child-care facilities. The centers will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and tuition will be comparable with that of similar child-care centers in the area.
Central Florida YMCA will cover the $10 million construction cost, with Disney pledging to contribute $4.5 million over five years for operational expenses. Disney, the region's largest employer, also will subsidize tuition for employees.
The centers are expected to open in mid- to late-2004.
