Disney Wilderness Preserve

We will be at WDW for 10 nights in OCtober, and have vowed that since we are staying lomger than we normally would that we would "relax" more this year, and not feel like we had to run everywhere and do everything.

I was looking at some alternatives to the parks, and ran across the Disney Wilderness Preserve, located about 15 miles south of WDW, and saw that they offer guided "Swamp Buggy" tours on Sundays.......has anyone been there or done the buggy tour?

I thought that it could be a nice retreat from a crowded park, just for a day.

We haven't done the buggy tour, but we did visit the place in February. It's very nice - but don't expect a theme park type experience. It's a preserve that happens to be owned by Disney. We walked the trail there and saw a lot of wildlife - it has the biggest population of bald eagles in the Southeast I believe. DH and I loved it, but I think our kids would have been bored.
