My family and I are thinking of going to the wilderness lodge for the fourth of july. There is room on hotels.com, but it is still pretty expensive. We have looked at the reviews and they all have positive things to say about the hotel. We are moving soon(live very close to Orlando), and I have always wanted to stay at that hotel ever since we moved here. It is on my bucketlist to stay at that hotel, and we are probably never coming back to Disney World for a trip once we move since we might be moving to California:( So I will have to stay at that hotel before we move, and I think this is the perfect time to do it. Thoughts?

We stayed there back in Dec 2010...and have popped back for visits on subsequent trips. As @bethymouse noted, it's beautiful resort. It's also nice to have the boat options for MK and the Contemporary + you have several decent dining and drinking options on site. Also a great thing...you can see MK fireworks from some rooms/spots there + the ELP comes by WL. Not sure how pricey the rooms are for the 4th, but it could be a cool place to stay at that point.

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge in November and really liked it! I especially loved the walking trail - very peaceful & quiet. The theming is perfect, and the lodge is just beautiful. I don't think you would regret it!

It's a wonderful resort even to just hang around. You can rent bikes and go riding around at Fort Wilderness, you can rent a speedboat, the pool is pretty nice, just very pretty and relaxing. My dad and I head over there for awhile during our August trip to ride bikes and look around.

Think about it this way: You move to Cali and you can go to DISNEYLAND!

Wilderness Lodge is our favorite WDW hotel. Everything about it is A+, from the fabulous lobby to the Woods view to the terrific restaurants, etc., etc. too many great things to list. It is, also the least expensive of the Deluxe hotels. I'm very envious of you. Go...you will have a Magical time !

Funny how when you live in a place, you never get around to doing the things there are to do!

I think that if you've wanted to do it for so long, you should stay there before you move. :)

Hang around to see the geyser go off. Eat at WCC, if you haven't already done that. Walk over to Ft. Wilderness and see what they have to see. It's a nice stroll through the woods.

Have fun! And good luck with the move!!
