Disney Visa rewards

We have used almost 200$ in bounus points (we put everything on this card and pay it off right away.) We tend to think of things as "I just earned 1.00 in bonus points, not I just spend 100$.

At 1st you called and got paper cards for 10$ each that you could only spend at one place you deterimed. Also you could not get any money back from these. Now they have a specail plasic card that takes about 2 weeks to come. Once you have this card you can transfer points on it any time from your comptuer (or a phone call I belive.) It is used as a debit cash card. We had no problems using it at all when at WDW.

We love the Disney Visa.

If you are asking how long it takes to get your rewards posted to your account, that happens once a month, when you are billed. After they are posted to your account you can transfer them instantly to the card that DisneyPhd was speaking about. However you still have to do it in 10$ increments.

We do the same thing, and use it as we would a check card, and pay off in full each month. We have also earned, well over $200 Reward Dollars this way.

Once you transfer the rewards to the card they remain there until the expiration date on the card, or you use them.:)

You get 1 reward dollar for every 100 dollars you spend on the card. You can access your account online, and transfer rewards from there, to a reward card. The reward card gets used just like you would a credit card at most Disney locations (like Disney Store, WDW, Disneyland). I believe you can also transfer your rewards and such on the phone.

I also use my Disney Visa for everything. We have about $200 in rewards that we are planning to use in July (with more added before then I'm sure). There is a monthly tally on your bill, but can use the website to check up on your account anytime.
Just put my WDW vacation on mine so there are quite a few Reward $$ coming my way. :D

One thing though...hang onto your card once you get it. Since its re fillable they will charge you extra for a new card if you throw it away or lose it.

Yes there is a time limit. The ones I have now expire in 2008. There is plenty of time to use them. You don't have to wait for a trip to WDW, you can use them at the Disney Store...great at the holidays.

When we 1st ordered the card, we did it in plently of time for it to arive before our trip (3 weeks) after 2 weeks and it still didn't come we called. Aparently there was a computer mistake with all the people who ordered theres on line that day. The lady on the phone was very accomodating and over nighted us the card. She called the next day to be sure we got it.

She also said that there was a way you could pick it up at guest relations at WDW if it didn't come in the mail on time.

I ordered the Reward card several months before our Feb 2004 trip and then, through the credit card web site, transferred dollars to it periodically over time. Did the last transfer just before we went to WDW.

Had $400 on the card when we went and used it to pay for several dinners until the reward dollars were all spent. It was great! Now I am building up again for next year.

They are posted according to your billing cycle. You can't charge & then look for the points the next day. There will always be a total on your statement.

Also note that points transferred to a card DO expire. Here's the exact text from the reward site:

Your Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM are good for a full five years (60 billing cycles) from the time they're earned, while included in your Program Rewards Balance. There are no block-out dates. Please refer to the Guide to the Disney RewardsSM Program for complete program details, including Terms and Conditions.

Once reward dollars are transferred to your Disney RewardsSM Card, the reward dollars are available for redemption until the expiration date on the rewards card. Rewards cards, and the reward dollars remaining on them, expire December 31st of the year after the year when the card was first ordered. For example:

A card ordered October 1, 2003, will expire on December 2004.
A card ordered January 1, 2004, will expire on December 2005.
When the card expires, any remaining reward dollars on the card will be forfeited. You will then need to request a new card. Replacement cards are not automatically sent to you.

Once reward dollars have been transferred to a rewards card, you cannot transfer them back into your Program Rewards Balance. Therefore, we recommend that you transfer only the number of reward dollars you plan to redeem prior to the expiration date of the rewards card.

To order the card, it takes a couple of weeks to receive. After that, you can transfer points earned to it, electronically.

Hope this helps!

We too have the Disney Visa Card and absolutely love it. Put everything on that card monthly and pay it off in full.
Had about $200 in reward dollars, but that will be increased greatly, as I am putting the whole trip for our Grand Gatherings on our card and paying it off! IE, went to Disney Store and bought 6 AP's. Collected the money from family, paid the bill, went and got the other 5 AP's, collected the money and paid the bill. Put the Resort reservations on the Card.....you get the idea! My goal is to be able to treat the whole gang of 12 (one child will only be 2) to a few nice meals at no charge!
