Disney Transportation System and Scooters

Waited over 30 minutes at All Stars for shuttle to MK. The que was more than full and we needed 2 buses. When the bus showed up there were 2 people in scooters, along with 10 family members EACH that boarded first. I can see letting on some family members to help, but why does everyone need to board first? Cant the family members stand like the rest of us?

It seems that Disney is so afraid of a lawsuit.

We have waited for a busses for 15 minutes or more and had a guests on scooters show up as the bus arrives and load them and there guests. Then when it was our time to board there was no room and end up standing there waiting for the next bus.

Is it fair? Probably not, but that is the way it is.

The one thing that always bothers me is getting on a bus and there is standing room only and people do not give up seats for young children.

When my child was small I would sit him on my lap to free up a seat. Very few parents do that now.

We would do the same even when our daughter was small. Now we all will stand if all the seats are gone so that the elderly, disable or small children can sit. However it burns me to no end when a young healthy person steps on the bus and takes a seat and does not let someone who needs a seat have one. Specially when I gave up my seat.

The scooters and buses are always a issue. Leaving say MK to head back, line is a good 40+ deep and you've been patiently waiting 20-30 mins bus pulls up and here comes a scooter with 10 family members. Even better I've had 3 scooters pull up in this instance and the scooters and all 48 family members boarded first. I can understand letting the scooter on and say 1 family member to assist but why do all get to board first when they are perfectly able to stand in line like everyone else. Oh, and I love the ones That literally stand up and ask the bus driver to put it on the bus for them. Really? It's obviously an issue but what can they do without someone getting butthurt and crying lawsuit now days.

As for seating, I'll never board and sit in the handicap seats I'll stand first. If I ever see an elderly or mother with ticket I'll always give my seat up or a parent carrying a sleeping young one. It's just all common sense to me.

I'm worried about this one because we've felt the same before. THis time however, one guest in our party will have a scooter. I've always felt that that person could wait at the designated area with one or 2 in their party while the rest wait in line. Then when the rest make it to the front, then the scooter can get on. We'll also be using DAS with our youngest son for the first time so that will be interesting as well. I don't like to get special treatment, and I don't expect to get put at the front of the line, and neither does anyone else in our party. But we also don't want to cause disruption to disney's normal operating procedure either.
