Disney to open a new Theme Park in Cyprus

That doesn't sound likely at all since Paris still needs work to turn fully in the black. The only thing that I would think that would fit is putting a DVC there, but I don't think that's likely considering the economic climate.

There are no plans to build any more parks. The last one in China was shelved.

Why so many rumors? This turns out to be because of how they purchased the WDW land. They were so secretive that it wasn't until over a year later it was unveiled who was purchasing the land. Now whenever someone somewhere buys large amounts of land under dummy companies or it is generally mysterious, people think it's Disney and they are building a new park/resort there.

Hope that clears things up!

:ROFLOL: I was in Cyprus about two months ago and noted how it was pretty much like Europe's version of Florida. They already have the warm weather, the beaches, and the foreign-owned properties and the only thing that is missing is a Disney resort. The only issue with Cyprus is that there is still the unresolved problem of North Cyprus and Mickey's Turkish Occupation just doesn't sound like a very successful attraction. That and the fact that I'm banned from Cyprus until I get a new passport because I left through an airport in the North, which is illegal. Oh yeah, and the fact that Paris is close and Disney is looking more towards Asia for growth in the future. If it wasn't for those points, I would be the first to sign-up to work there once the park opened, since that would mean two of my favorite things in the same place.

I can see it as a port of call for the Meditaranean Disney Cruise Line, with an Adventures by Disney extension, but nothing beyond that.
