Disney to Market Electronic Devices Made by Motorola, WSJ Says
Burbank, California, July 23 (Bloomberg) -- Walt Disney & Co.
will expand into the consumer-electronics market with a new, child-
friendly set of two-way radios and cordless telephones made by
Motorola Inc., the Wall Street Journal reported.
Disney plans to enter into more licensing agreements with
other manufacturers for electronic products for children, the
Journal said. The company plans to offer its own specially
designed televisions, digital-video disc players, compact-disc
players, boom boxes and clock radios.
The expansion into electronics equipment is part of a broader
move to increase the brand value of Disney for young families and
children, the Journal said, citing Andy Mooney, president of the
consumer-products unit.
