A possible Disney connection was raised when commissioners checked the company owners. On a form called "Registration of Fictitious Name" filed with the Missouri Secretary of State's office in March for ARM Risk, three owners are listed. Corporations routinely file such forms.
The owners are Michael Hill of Wilmington, Del.; Robert Brown, who lists his address as 500 South Buena Vista St., Burbank, Calif.; and Jason Johnson, who lists his address as Corporate Office, Lake Buena Vista, Fla. On the Internet, commissioners found that the Burbank address is corporate headquarters of the Walt Disney Co. Lake Buena Vista, Fla., is headquarters of Walt Disney World Resort.
Very interesting.

hmm

So more hotels and shops then actual theme park? Out of 1,000 acres only 100 of that will be the actual park?

Couldnt they have had mroe? I know more then that can fit on 1000 acres.

Rumor of a Disney theme park in southwest Missouri is being reignited.

The connection is rather a stretch, but it is reminiscent of what Walt did in Central Florida. Still, is SW Missouri where Marceline is located?

Zz.

Marceline is in the north-central part of the state off Route 36. That is the route from St. Joseph (starting point of the Pony Express) and Hannibal, boyhood home of Mark Twain.

It is hundreds of miles from SW MIssouri. That part of the planet is VERY hilly, and I would think rather difficult to build on.

Not to mention the fact that a park in Missouri would be basically non-usable 3 months of the year.

Well, considering Southwest Missouri is home to Branson, one of the most popular tourist desitinations in the US, and billed as a "Family Friendly Las Vegas" it's no wonder that Disney would want to claim some slice of that pie. Now I don't know about any full-fledged theme park, but an entertainment offering of some sort... like some kind of resort with a show... I can absolutely see.

Does it not snow in Paris?

I live in Branson MO, I own a business in Branson and I can first hand tell you that a park could survive, for the most part, year round. Sure, there are a few days of the year that there is a lot of snow, but all in all, it could work.

As for this rumor, I've been hearing this for years. I was so sucked into believing it about a year ago, I was ready to cash out my life savinging and buy up absoutly all the property that I could within close proxemity....Luckily I didn't do that, bc the rumor was....just that.

What I find interesting is that, the address went back to Lake Buena Vista (if i read that correctly) Which leading me to believe that either someone knows exactly what they are stirring up by giving disney addresses or disney is doing some check in, footwork into MO.

Ok, first of all:

1926 S. Glenstone Ave., Suite 353, Springfield is the registered address of the company that did the filings.

That address is a UPS Store.

Secondly, Disney would NEVER give information on what exactly they were planning to build before it opened. And not only that, but there is no possible way that six hotels, 95 shops, 27 rides, 12 stages and 18 restaurants would be open at park opening. TWENTY SEVEN RIDES? Thats just an insane number. Once again, this is a false rumor. I'm thinking the people that did it were having some fun and spent $120 for 6 months on a PO BOX at the UPS Store.

Champion. Disney would have to tell the county what they are building. The county would approve it to be built or not .

Those numbers do sound quite high though.

Well there's always the possibilty that they were trying to score a coup as in RCID in Florida. Come in and buy the property under the cloak of aliases, then announce the development and twist the arm of government to get sovereignty over their domain. Unlikely.
