Disney Studios theme park: rides and attractions (in my Disney theme park proposal)

I now have my final (more of less) list of rides and attractions for my Disney Studios park, in my proposal for a 6th Disney theme park resort. As I have posted earlier, Disney Studios will mainly be a production facility, with a few rides and attractions as of the park resort's opening. The reason for this is since one of the things I wanted for this park was a production facility of some sort as of opening day (or shortly afterward).

Disney Studios will open with six soundstages (twice the number as Disney-MGM in Orlando), a backlot which includes a new Residential Street (no longer at Disney-MGM), a working animation studio, along with the Earfell Tower-- which will be an actual water tower for the studio and park, not an oversized prop like Disney-MGM's tower! Disney Studos with originally have 14 rides and attractions; twice the number as Hollywood Pictures at Disneyland's California Advenuture, and approximately 2/3 the number Disney-MGM Studios at WDW has. In other words, a direct compromise between Disney-MGM and Hollywood Pictures, more or less! :D

Here is my list of rides and attractions for opening day:

1.) Cinemagic Special Effects Stage
2.) Disney Studio 1: which consists of:
a.) Sound Studio: a mock sound effects studios where guests add SFX to various Disney cartoons!
b.) TV Zone: similar to the former Disney-MGM TV Zone, where guests interact with characters from both classic and current TV sitcoms!
3.) The Great Movie Ride: which will include primarily different movie scenes from Disney-MGM's ride.
4.) Hyperion Theater: a 2,000 seat theater designed like a movie palace theater from the early days of Hollywood. Hyperion Theater presents a multi-character show similar to the Disney Cruise Line show; but not the same exact show, just similar. I have heard a lot of good things about DCL's show, so I decided on something very much like it!

5.) Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular: even though Disney-MGM has this, I think this is one of their very best shows, so I decided that Indiana Jones should be included here as well!
6.) Jim Henson's Muppet*Vision 3-D
7.) Lilo & Stich's Hawaiian Roller Coaster: This will be located in the Animation Courtyard, along with Magic of Disney Animation studio and the Tron ride (both described below)
8.) Magic of Disney Animation: This is an actual working animation studio, working in three diferent types of animation! This is something that Disney-MGM, Hollywood Pictures, and Disney Studios Paris can't claim:
a.) Cel Animation
b.) Computer Animation
c.) Clay Animation

In addition, there will be an interactive area where guests learn a few tricks of the animation trade, much like the area that the Disney Studios Paris animation studio has!

9.) Star Tours
10.) Studio Tour: Behind the Scenes
11.) That's Entertainment! Hollywood Gallery: This includes exhibits and artifacts from Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general; both past and present!
12.) Tron: The Ride: This is based on an earlier proposal on the Imagineer forum, and will be located in the Animation Courtyard.
13.) The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
14.) Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?: Play It!

In addition, Disney Studios will include:

* a Hollywood-based parade similar to the Walt Disney Studios parade at Disneyland Paris. This parade will also include the movie projector float with Tinker Bell sitting in front of the lens from that parade! In addition, Hollywood-themed songs will be incorporated into the parade; such as Hooray For Hollywood, We're In the Money, You Ought to Be in Pictures, and That's Entertainment!, just to mention a few!

* Sorcery In the Sky Fireworks: which will be presented each night!

I'll try to start designing my map renderings of Disney Studios sometime soon. One thing I wanted to do was to have a hub-type design, which would make this park easier to navigate that Disney-MGM. If anyone has questions, comments, and/or suggestions, please feel free to post!

Re: Disney Studios theme park: rides and attractions (in my Disney theme park proposa

To answer your question, not all of my rides and attractions for this park are other people's ideas. In fact, I'll explain this a bit more in depth to prove this:

1.) Cinemagic Special Effects Stage
This is an entirely original show, despite the fact that the studios in Paris have a show there called Cinemagique. This is completely unrelated to the or another Disney ride, show, or attraction!

Both Disney-MGM and Hollywood Pictures (California Adventure) have SFX studios/attractions. Even thought this may be true., sound effects are in facts an important part of movies, especially cartoons. As for TV Zone, that is no longer at Disney-MGM, but I'm sure there's a number of people who would like to experience this again!

3.) The Great Movie Ride: which will include primarily different movie scenes from Disney-MGM's ride.

Once again, the majority of the scenes are different from Disney-MGM's ride, which would give riders a completely different experience!

True, Hollywood Pictures has a Hyperion Theater, but the show is completely original. Also, this is a different show from the Disney Cruise Line, but has a number of similarities, mainly the fact that this is a multi-character show themed around a common plotline.

5.) Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular: even though Disney-MGM has this, I think this is one of their very best shows, so I decided that Indiana Jones should be included here as well!

This may be the same show, but so far we only have one ride/attraction that's the same!

6.) Jim Henson's Muppet*Vision 3-D

See above. Also, both Disney-MGM and California Adventure have this, so I couldn't see why this popular show couldn't be included here as well!

7.) Lilo & Stich's Hawaiian Roller Coaster: This will be located in the Animation Courtyard, along with Magic of Disney Animation studio and the Tron ride (both described below)

This is a completely original ride. Even thought the cartoon has this roller coaster, so far none have been built!

Just like sound effects, animation is an important part of moviemaking, especially with Disney! Also, this studio is different from the others since it produces 3 different types of animation, as opposed to one!

In addition, there will be an interactive area where guests learn a few tricks of the animation trade, much like the area that the Disney Studios Paris animation studio has!

Enough said!

9.) Star Tours

OK, this is number three. However, IIRC, EVERY Disney park has Star Tours, and since many if not most rides and attractions at these parks are the same or similar, there is really no reason to exclude Star Tours here!

10.) Studio Tour: Behind the Scenes

DUH! This is a studio, so wouldn't guests expect a tour??!!!

11.) That's Entertainment! Hollywood Gallery: This includes exhibits and artifacts from Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general; both past and present!

I don't recall seing this at Disney-MGM, Hollywood Pictures, or Walt Disney Studios Paris.

12.) Tron: The Ride: This is based on an earlier proposal on the Imagineer forum, and will be located in the Animation Courtyard.

OK, I know this idea was submitted here before, but this ride was never actually built! However, I included this since I liked the idea. Also, I'm sure this won't be EXACTLY the same as the original idea submitted to this forum!

13.) The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

OK, this is number four. Anyway, this is a very popular ride, and so far, Disney has seen no problem in adding a second TOT at California Adevnture! Also, 4 out of 13 is not bad at all, considering this proposal comes from an amateur Imagineer!!!!!

14.) Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?: Play It!

Number five so far out of fourteen.

So far, I have come up with 5 out of 15 rides and attractions that are exactly the same as those at Disney-MGM or other parks, plus 3 or 4 that have similarities. This is only 1/3 of the rides/attractions that are the same and less than half that are similar in any way! You might also want to keep in mind that I've never been to WDW or the other Disney theme parks, so you should at least give me credit for trying! :D

Yep. Pretty good. I have one thing though (I may add this to my new Resort, but you can use the same concept), instead of using the same old Tower of Terror, why don't you make your own, completly unique Twilight Zone thrill ride? And also, kudos on adding a Stitch ride and no Rockin' Roller Coaster. :)

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is THE most popular ride/attraction at WDW, as far as I know! Besides, it probably won't be exactly the same as WDW's. Tower of Terror at California Adventure is somewhat different from Disney-MGM's. Also, the Hollywood Hotel setting of Tower or Terror fits the Hollywood/motion picture theme of the park, so it would be perfectly logical to include it here as well!

BTW, this list of rides and attractions for Disney Studios is out of date on this post. I have since added The Great Muppet Movie Ride, Lights, Motors, Action! motor stunt show, Playhouse Disney: Live on Stage, and a Monsters, Inc. dark ride. I may also move Honey I Shrunk the Audience from my Magic Kingdom-like park to Disney Studios, and pair it with a Honey I Shrunk the Kids walk-around like Disney-MGM has.

These can be found on my updated post, at the following URL:

A list of Great Movie Ride scenes, so far, can be found at:

Last but certainly not least, I posted a proposal for one of the restaurants, called Annette's, at:

Enjoy! :D

BTW, it appears that you're new here. Well then, let me be the first on on the Imagineer forum (and possibly any of these forums) to welcome you to WDWMagic! :)

I have an idea for an Alias-themed ride for the Studios, just tell me if you want it and I'll post the details :)

:sohappy: :sohappy:

I am a big Jen Garner fan so it would be great to hear about an Alias ride!!
