just curious whats everyones feeling on the disney store?-pros or cons-they have a major remodel effort going on over next 3 years.cosa mesa,ca and cherry hill, nj have been done already. at first i was bummed to hear they were changing but after seeing stores i was excited-they look reallly cool.any rumers or info about disney store love to hear

i spoke to a mgr at my local disney store
they said they need to increase sales by these actions
a-get rid of big bulky window set ups to add 20% more sales space
b-offer broader range of merchandise like bedding, bathroom etc
c-emphasis on the actual merchandise with limiting "amenities"-like huge screen and audioanimotronics figures .
d-actually having tv commercials to help bring in sales
why?????
people would come in and spend hours there watching the screen
talking disney to cast members but because the merchandise was pricey would walk away empty and being disney is a profit driven company had to increase sales to increase shareholder value

Ack. I had to drive past Cherry Hill to get home from Philly yesterday.... grrr. If I get a chance, I'll visit it in person (although I hate Philly).
they replaced big tv with a big "d" and behind that a screen that is colored differently for seasons-ie x-mas will be red or green and summer might be blue-there is a small screen shaped like mickey head at entrance of store-i did speak to mgr at costa mesa store and they siad they have since replaced big screen where it was-they are in the tweaking period-seeing what works and doesnt work so when they do the rest of their stores they know what to do-they 2 stores were prototypes.they even changed there costume too-black pants or skirts with denim oxford type shirt-no more sweaters with khaki shorts

I hear that some of the figuares that were used in the old Disney Stores are (some) going to pop in the rehab of Superstar Limo which will become Goofy's Superstar Limo which should happen in Thanksgiving.

Are all of the Disney stores going to change or just some of them? I have 2 Disney stores in my area and would love to see this store. If so when should I see the stores change?

Disney wants to revamp all of them since many have complained about them. Disney is getting rid of about 30 of them.
all wb stroes are closed or going to be -this is great for disney-even thought 2 different product line-they said by 2003 all of the disney stores will be revamped. they plan on having computer kiosk in every store to make other company divisions accessable-ie if a custmer wants to make reservations at a disney resort hotel they canright there at store or if they want to find out about a new recording artist they can via disney.com-i think this is great for the company-it is going to open up lots of "synergy" for disney

Yes, all WB Stores are being shut down. I never went there.
like other things at disney u get used to one way then when it changes its kinda of like being sideswiped by a mac truck-at first i was bumbed too but its really cool looking stores-more modern with emphasis on hi techand more on selling then having a mini theme park for guests just to come in and watch the tv for hours it kinda of looks like a disney -gap store
