ok, so i went to the disney store last week, well, actually i go nearly every day, but that's beside the point. I was talkin to the manager and stuff (we know each other) and she is still intent on hiring me when i turn 18 which is in 2 months. So, I was later talking to one of the employees and I asked her how much of a discount they get off store items and she said 20%. Then I asked if they got theme park discounts and she said yes, but when I asked how much they get off, she said that she couldn't tell me till I was employed, hmmm... so, my question is as simple as this... HOW MUCH??? does anyone know how much I would get off theme park visits? Thanks, I love ya all!!!

Discounts are a tricky subject. The way they're SUPPOSED to work is that any "premenant" cast members get 20% off for their first 3 years then 35% from then on. I'm considered a "temporary" cast member @ WDW (Campus Rep) and when I was at Disneyland they refused to give me my discount 9 out of 10 times. (Some of the managers even got a little rude about it.) But generally there isn't any problem with that kind of stuff. Hope that helps.

Oh...BTW, "salaried" cast (managers and such) automatically get the 35% regardless of how long they've been with the company.

hey, that's cool! Now I want to apply for a salary job... hmmm...

Since I am a Disney Store CM, I will clear this up for you.

I should tell you that a salary job at the Disney Store means management. Unless they are looking for a head manager and unless you are highly qualified, you start off like everyone else, and usually for no more than 8 or 10 hour per week at first. Usually they move CM's who have been there for like 10 years into leads and asst. management... if there is a need.

As for the discounts go, there is no big secret about our discounts at the parks (at least thats what they said). In fact, that's why most people work there in the first place. You get 20% right off the bat in the stores. After being there for 90 days, you will receive an ID card (just like ones used by CM's at WDW). You can use your ID card to get into the parks... no charge and use it like a hopper as well. Your discount in the stores applies to your discount at the park and is listed on your card, in most cases. You will also recieve 2 theme park passes, twice per year from Michael Isner, if you have been there for more than 6 months. These passes can be used at WDW, Disneyland, DCA, Tokyo, Paris, and will have your name printed on them. You can use them or give them away.

Disney Store CM's also get 50% off resort rooms (if rooms are available). You have to personaly be staying in that room to get the discount. Everywhere you go in WDW you have to show your ID to get anything.

Your ID is NOT good for getting into Disneland and DCA though!

The info is not secret but I wouldn't spread it around because you don't want everyone working there and know your secret!

The Disney Stores do not pay that much but the perks are great! Tips on getting the job? Email me! ;)

the only U.S. based CM's allowed into Tokyo for free are contract talent, and WDI... I've been, and I had to pay.
