Disney Store Key at WDW

My 8yo cousin has received two souvenir keys by opening the local Disney store in the morning. The employees of the store told her that if she brought the keys with her on her trip to WDW (her first trip is at the end of May this year), something special would happen. It's all she can talk about recently, and I've scoured Disney blogs and forums, and I can't find anything about it. I'd like to figure out if something will actually happen. Any info appreciated. Thank you!

All I found out is this..If you open the store with their "Key of Imagination" you then get a small Plastic version of the Key you just used...Most sites that said they got the small replica never mention anything about bringing it to Disney World for anything specific...

Did the CM know you were going to Disney World beforehand? It sounds to me like the CMs just said that to make the key sound more 'magical' and didn't think you would actually go.

That is awesome! I'd definitely take it, maybe to the DtD World of Disney store. I've never heard of anything like that before, but what a neat little memento for your cousin!

I can only assume that they said this to make it more special for her, but just in case you may want to remind her parents to bring her to the DTD Disney store or even Once Upon a Toy and see if they might have some extra incentive for having the key.

It would be nice if they gave her and her family a Fast Pass or a tour of Cinderella's Suit but then that would be the responsibility of guest services at the parks.

Just order something to be in the room before y'all get there or get the room service ice cream bar and say it was the key.

I know someone got a key at my local store when it reopened after being closed for 4 months but I didn't think they did that every single day. Your cousin got the key on a random regular day, nothing special was going on?
