I have a Canadian friend who is asking about Disney Star? He saw an Instagram ad that made it look like it's part of Disney+, but I've never even heard of it.

Any info about this would be greatly appreciated.

Star is a brand and a service that contains all the more mature Disney content.

In the U.S., Hulu serves that function.

In Latin America, it will be Star+ as a separate streamer, but available to be bundled with Disney+.

In Canada and Europe, Star will be a separate section within D+ like Marvel and Star Wars and Pixar is, only with parental controls. Like Hulu, it will be the home of FX shows on streaming. It will have the R-rated Marvel movies (Logan, Deadpool), adult Fox animation (Family Guy), and all the back catalog of Fox / 20th Century that is 'adult' (Aliens).
