Disney Songs and WDW

What Disney songs remind you more WDW than the movies they actually come from?

For me, there are 2 that really stand out.

The first is "Whale of a Tail" played at Columbia Harbour House. Every time I hear it, I think of the fishy-fish smell of the place and the big round table in front of the door if you go right from the registers. We have sat there almost every single time going there. It's also the ONLY place in the world my wife will eat fish.

The other is "Can't Wait to be King" from Philharmagic. I never really paid much attention to the song from "The Lion King". Now every time I hear it, I can't help but playing the AWESOME 8-9 layer 3-D in my mind. The hopping up the neck steps, the rotating wheels, the Giant Simba face singing.

Besides that, I think there is like a 2-3 hour loop of music played at Pop at the Hippy Dippy Pool. Anytime I hear any of those songs, I go back to Pop and smile a little wider than I may have been before.

When You Wish Upon a Star.
Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.
Pretty much anything from Tarzan makes me just think of Tarzan Rocks (RIP).

I will have to agree with SkipKid. Also, the Tea Cups and Alice in Wonderland.
How about Eddy Murphy's Haunted Mansion LOL. Had to throw it out there.

For me, "You Can Fly" evokes more memories of Peter Pan's Flight and PhilharMagic than of the movie "Peter Pan" itself.

Me too...probably because I've never seen Peter Pan :lookaroun I know, I know... it's just wrong, but true.

Once Upon a Dream (from the carosaul), A Dream Is a Wish, You Can Fly, Fortuosity (from Mainstreet, actually came from Disney's "The Happiest Millionaire"), Zip-a-dee-do-dah...

When You Wish Upon a Star - don't know if I know the rest of it anymore. All I hear is, "When you wish upon a star (little girl's voice)" then "Remember the magic, remember the magic, it's time to remember the magic!" I just teared up...ahhh, Disney music.

Also, all the snippets from Fantasmic...Hakuna Matata...From Zero to Hero...the Sorcer's Apprentice music...:)

For me it was always when you wish upon a star. That was the TV intro for Disneyland for so long, it brings me back to Cali.

Nowhere Imparticular from Mr. Toad reminds me more of the rides.

Night on Bald mountain or Toccata and Fuge in D Minor remind me of Wishes, Fantasmic, and Spectro more than Fantasia.

Yo Ho Yo Ho a pirates life for me, reminds me more of Pillaging Pirates in Adventureland than Capt. Sparrow, but now they're more sorta blending together. :lookaroun

That's about it. Great Thread Topic!

For some reaon that is a pretty memorible piece to most people. it's great! Listening to it now!

oh there are too many, while working as a CM the music of the tea cups is always in my mind since sometimes i would get stuck there for almost two hours and that music is on a (it seemed like) a 5 minute loop, so it kept going on and on.

then there is winnie the pooh, when i got to work at the board for sended the cars i had fun and kept singing other disney songs to people while i was attending the board. i always asked the stand-by line people to ask me to sing a song but for some reason they always asked for winnie the pooh, i guess since we were there. well i had to get them to ask for something else.

Any song from Mickey's PhilharMagic makes me think of seeing the awesome 3D spectacle. Also, the Wishes song they play during the Wishes fireworks is also one-of-a-kind!!! I have Illuminations on a CD, but does anyone know if the Wishes song is on a Disney CD??

Aerosmith songs remind me of RnRC. They used to remind me of the Aerosmith concerts that I have seen, but not since RnRC came out.

"You can fly" also reminds me of the ride like others are saying, not the movie.

Any song that is sung in French or has that type of music in the background reminds me of France at Epcot.

It is funny this topic is brought up because right now I am at work listening to sorcerer1's WDW music. Two maintenance guys came in to repair some hurricane damaged windows and they just kept looking at me as if to say what in the world are you listening to. It was one of the character parade's music. It was funny because it seems they had no recognition of it being Disney at all.

That one song from Gone With the Wind that they play at the ending movie of The Great Movie Ride.

YES!!! Most of the songs AND movie clips at the end of GMR!! Whenever I am watching a movie that is in that montage, it makes me think of it!!

Wishes is available on CD! We got ours from the store on Main Street as we were walking out of the park (O.K. ...we were walking out about 2-3 hours AFTER Wishes -- it was our first day of our 10 day trip there, but all of us including my 5 year old daughter didn't want to leave!)
We listen to it once or twice a month at least, and of course it's on the iPod!

Music from Disney Movies

~any of the songs from Song of the South that were used in Splash Mountain tend to make me think of Splash first. (And I'm sure Disney likes it that way! )

~As mentioned by quite a few people, the music from the march of the cards scene in Alice in Wonderland makes me think of the Mad Tea Party right away.

~The title songs from both "Cinderella" (Cinderellabration/Wishes/even old memories of Main Street Electrical Parade) and "Alice in Wonderland" (the old Alice/plushie room of World of Disney).

~The score to Rescuers Down Under spawns visions of Fountains of Nations in my head.

"Other"

~Hearing an Aerosmith song makes me think of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and/or the courtyard outside the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster queue.

Excellent thread topic, this is fun!

From Alice, the title song "Alice in Wonderland" always reminds me of Disneyland. They play it when you enter the tunnel and outside the Alice ride.
