Disney should slash the price of Rooms

Shouldn't Disney drastically slash the price on all of its rooms? It seems that they're doing everything they possibly can to keep people away---reduced hours, reduced ride operations, reduced show times, no early entry. All of these are only going to add to the problem not help it! If they really slashed the price of the rooms, then the cutbacks would not be necessary because they would attract enough people to the parks. First get the people into your hotel rooms, then to your parks which in turn means onto your rides/shows, into your restaurants, and into your stores! It seems like a fairly rudimentary business solution. I hope they're listening!

They have slashed the room rates! :)
All Star down to $49, AK Lodge down to about $129. There are lots and lots of offers on room rates, right through Christmas and into the new year.

:)

I think we need to get people back on planes 1st then Disney should see a turnaround!

Booking Rooms

What if I book a room at AKL, and get the $129 rate, but I'm not going now...I'm going in March...will they still honor that rate?

The room rates are dependent on your arrival date, not the booking date. But there is every chance there could be some good deals running for your March trip. :)

OK

We book ours through AAA, and use the Disney Club, so I'm sure the discount we would get with those would be just about the same. <~~ and with AAA, you get ALOT more stuff!;)

Actually if only one person in your party buys an annual pass you can get much better deals on the hotels than with AAA or the Disney Club. A great place to go to get updated info on hotel discounts and other info is mousesavers.com. It's a great site!!

Have fun on your next trip!!

Oaky I have reservations for january at the allstar already. Now can I call them back and get it at the $49 rate. When I made the reservation we are paying like $69 a nite. Thanxs.

You can certainly try. If they have rooms at that rate for the time you want they cancel your existing reservation and you get back your deposit. They then give you a new reservation and you make a new deposit. We've done this twice with our reservations at WL since we made them last Oct. for this Nov. This applies with normal reservations with CRO. The rules are different if you booked through the Disney Travel Company. Good luck.

Nineteen days until departure.

Once all of the special priced reservations are made, the price will be based on the time of the season.... dates are posted on most unofficial WDW sites...If a special priced reservation is cancelled, it will be returned to reservations desk as a regular priced room. These specials are to encourage people to book early. I think that reservation monies received become 'float' that the company can use to generate intrest income on escrow in reservations accounts.
