Disney Quest or Disney WaterPark??? What to do?

I'm taking my dance team in March to perform in MMD. We have a 4 day park hopper plus a one day admission to a Disney Water park. We have the option of trading that in for admission at DisneyQuest. I'm REALLY not up for running around in my bathing suit in front of all my kiddos so I'm leaning towards DisneyQuest. My question is would HS aged girls enjoy DisneyQuest? I like the fact that they could also use the time to shop at all the store in that area as well. Thought?
TIA:sohappy:

i'd say go for it because they have the ability to make their own songs.

However you could always got there yourself and allow your kiddos to go to Typhoon Lagoon because they are only opposite the road. if your driving you also get free parking.

Hope this has helped a bit

I would say the water park. When I was in HS and came with my band, we went there. It's so much more fun at the WP than at DQ. You don't have to run around in your bathing suit. But it on, but get some board shorts. That's what I do and I'm only 21. I don't like going around in my suit either. DQ gets really boring after a while too. Lastly, depending on how you trust your girls, remember that there is a LOT of places to go in DTD.

The waterpark is more fun. However, Disneyquest is open later and you can go there at night after spending the day at another park like Animal Kingdom because it does not have a nighttime show.

How early does DisneyQuest even open? I thought it didn't open until 10 am, in which case I'd go to a waterpark...DisneyQuest has really stagnated.

Oh I forgot to add that we would be doing this on our last day at WDW. Our plane leaves around in the afternoon.

So long as you plan some packing for wet suits, the water parks are likely your best bet. I can't find opening hours for DQ, but if you're leaving in the afternoon, chances are you wouldn't have much time there.

I have been to disney quest and both water parks in september and i like the water parks better. but i like the outdoors and would rather be swimming then playing video games on my vaction. Plus In september the water parks seem less crowed then Disneyquest.

disneyquest often doesn't open until 11 a-m or later during slow times. I've known it not to open until noon.

We always show up at dq opening and have done about everything we could want to do in 4-5 hours.

A water park will open earlier, but there is the matter of dealing with wet suits and changing etc before leaving.

But overall, there's probably more to do at waterpark.

PICK DISNEYQUEST! But here's some info...

The waterparks are fun, but the rides at the Disney waterparks are pretty comparable to the ones found at most major waterparks around the country. The differences to other non-Disney waterparks: 1) the theming is perfect at both TL and BB and 2) at TL the snokeling thing is AMAZING (and included in your admission)!! Your reservation about your swimsuit is probably unfounded because everyone is wearing one! (Generally, it helps body image, I think---haha!)

Disney Quest ROCKS! If you are there during a not-busy time of year, you can get it all done in a 2-3 hours. Especially if it is the afternoon. I loved Disney Quest when I was in high school and I still do!! It's a totally unique experience that isn't anywhere else! There is shopping at Downtown Disney, but remember that it is quite a hike to the Marketplace Shops from DisneyQuest (and the West Shops only take at most an hour). There is nothing for your girls to get into "trouble" at Downtown Disney--especially during the day (just my opinion, in response to another post).

If Disney Quest doesn't open until 11am (probable), then do the Marketplace shops first (usually open at 9:30am) and then take the hike to Disney Quest. If you have time, eat at the Earl of Sandwich (Marketplace)...they have the BEST sandwiches ever! :) Otherwise, there is a Cheesecake Factory Express (limited options but very good) INSIDE DisneyQuest.
