Disney Plus Discount for D23 members

3 Years ago there was Disney Plus Discount for D23 members. It was around $140 for 3 years (paid upfront).

The 3 years is almost up.

Has anyone heard of a new Disney Plus Discount for D23 members?

I would think it's unlikely. They needed to build up a subscriber base quickly at the start of D+, and ones that would stick around in the overall total to reduce churn.

If there is a deal for D23 members, I doubt it will be as generous as that one.

Does anyone know if they sent out surveys to those who took up the deal, asking their interest level in staying a subscriber?

I've not received one yet. Unsure what I'll do when the time comes up. We used it a lot more during the pandemic.... now? Not at all really outside of the new SW shows. Boba wasn't enough to keep me. I can always binge watch Mandalorian too to not keep it long.

I could be wrong on the timing but I think at the very least a person who did the three years would be able to renew for a year at the current price before the D+ price goes up in December. In fact I think the specifically timed the price increase to Dec 8 to encourage anyone who has been doing annual plans of any sort since launch (Nov 12, 2019) to renew for another year before the price jump.

FWIW, I got a two year D+ membership prior to launch with a big discount by using my Disney Visa. When my two years was up, they incentivised me to return not with a discount on D+, but by offering a free "Disney Box" after I paid for another year at list price. I had a choice of multiple themes of boxes and I opted for a Mickey themed box. Got a small serving tray, a hat, some lollipops, a chip bag clip, a lithograph, a Mickey shaped pad of paper, and a small backpack in the box I got.

The 3 year promo was pushed at the D23 Expo. The next Expo is in a few weeks. If there's going to be another promotion, it's likely to be announced/marketed there. But if they offer a multi-year discount rate, I expect it to be for the ad-based level rather than ad-free.

I think Disney is making a bet that people calling themselves as members of their fan club will shell out the dollars it takes to renew Disney+ after getting a deal for three years.

There might be some churn, but at full price, they'll probably hit records of fully paying customers.

As for myself, I plan to switch over to the Disney bundle since I have Hulu. AMEX (at least mine does) gives you a $7 credit each month if you have the bundle.

At D23, was there a Disney Plus discount announced for D23 members?
There was a $1.99 one month discount announced right before D23 for Disney+ Day:
