In a new feature on Disney’s Star Wars revival in Wired magazine, it was revealed that Disney will continue to release a new Star Wars movie every year for the foreseeable future. Disney already has movies planned up to 2019, including The Force Awakens in December, Rogue One in 2016, Episode VIII in 2017, a spin-off movie about Han Solo in 2018 and Episode IX in 2019.

The article mentions that the movie-per-year plan from Disney will continue as long as the movies are profitable. Disney reportedly wants to turn the series into a “forever franchise”.

So they're enforcing what we probably already knew. Inb4 too much Star Wars oversaturates the market.
