Last year, the monitors that show your ride photos at Splash Mountain were down all day, so to compensate us, they seemingly gave everyone the “missing” photos for free on MyDisneyExperience. This year, I checked the app and saw that two of my on ride photos from Space Mountain were on there for free, although there doesn’t seem to be any logical reason why. Has anyone else ever gotten any of their ride pictures for free, and if so do you know why?

The pictures will show up, but [to my understanding] unless you have Memory Maker (or an Annual Pass that includes Photo Downloads) you may still be required to purchase them. I think with the advent of the electronic means of download they've done away with a lot more of the "stop here to print out" areas (look at things like 7DMT that don't even have an area to view them, but they'll link to your account if MB is recognized on the ride)

No like I mean 2 of the ride photos showed up in my account to download, when I never paid for them. The rest all have PhotoPass watermarks with the option to buy them.

Good to know. I guess I always had an entitlement associated so no difference was seen.
