Disney may have just hurt themselves this time. I had already read about this on another news site earlier today and I just don't know what to think about it, especially since I love Disney World and am a DVC member. My husband and I are contemplating getting out of it because it just isn't right what they've done and Disney may be in serious trouble with the government because Senator Bill Nelson of Florida is already pushing for an investigation into this.

The fact that Disney could afford a $4 billion payout to George Lucas to acquire Lucasfilm and its properties means that this is greed, PURE GREED. There are so many comments that I have read saying people are going to boycott all things Disney so that isn't good. I say that we "real" Disney fans need to call for Bob Iger's removal from Disney because if you read the article you'll see that he's the reason why this is happening. He is not good for Disney in any way and I always had a bad feeling about him. He's just another one of "those" CEO's.

While I don't necessarily agree with the decision, cost savings shouldn't be compared to an acquisition like Lucas Films. Disney views the $4b as an investment that might turn in to $40b. There is only 1 Lucas Films, but thousands of people who can do an IT job. They are just giving the job to the lowest bidder.

If you are thinking about getting out of DVC because of this, then you should also think about not dealing with every major corporation you current deal with since every one does this. Not saying it's right, just saying that this isn't just a Disney thing.
