Disney on Ice - worth it high up?

I've been dragging my heels on tickets for Disney on Ice because they are SO expensive up here (Vancouver). First tier seats are $150-$62. I'm looking at the bleacher (2nd tier seats) which are still $40 a ticket. We would be about 26 rows up. Everything I've read says purchase the best seats, but those are sold out at this point anyway. Is it still worth it to attend if you're pretty high up?

FWIW my kids are 3 and 5. And they are going to want every light up spinning gadget in that auditorium.

I can't remember what row we were in but we didn't have the most premium of seats (off center too) but found that it was still good viewing because there are no obstructions and you get a more panoramic view than say, a stage show. Not Vancouver, but here's some pics for reference:

A family behind us bought all the light up toys for their kids. I think that's where most of their money went! :p

I went to the Ice Capades in the Colosseum in Montreal (I think that is what it was called) we had seats one section down from the nosebleed section and it was awesome. You could see the whole iced area without really having to move your eyes. If you have eye problems it might be a problem, but, I had correct 20/20 and I was so happy that I wasn't down in the expensive seats where all you could see is straight ahead. Just one take on it.

Even with the higher seating areas you can enjoy the show and music. The kids still will enjoy seeing the skating characters and share in the songs. When we attended events in the cheaper seats we made sure to bring along a pair of binoculars. The kids can share them. It can give them a closeup look at the skaters.

That's a good idea, thanks!

When I was a kid in the 80s my parents couldn't afford the good seats, so we were always up in the nosebleeds. Honestly, all I remember is being in awe of the whole thing and loving every minute of it. Your kids will be just as thrilled wherever they sit.

(Although I wish they still sold those awesome flashlights with the Mickey heads on them that spun around...did anyone else get one of those from Disney on Ice in the 80s? Between those and the fiber optic toys from WDW in the 80s, I miss those cheap little flashlights :))

I've taken my boys since the oldest was 3 yrs old (he is 9 now) and always about 20+ rows up ($25 tickets in TX). They always have a great time. You can see everything going on at once. I usually take some of their light up toys from home. We seem to always have 2 or 3 toys in working condition from our WDW/Disneyland trips.
