Disney Now Making Fractions of a Sequel

(Cinescape) -- Not only has Disney begun development on a sequel to one of its few classic animated movies that has gone sequelless until now, and we’re talking Jungle Book here, but it’s also begun to make fractions of sequels to previous sequel. A short item in today’s VARIETY detailing the hiring of some animators to new projects, we see word the studio has hired Spaff Animation to do work on Jungle Book 2, and also a direct-to-video movie, The Lion King 1½. No, the logic behind this is lost on us too. Spaff is led by Dave Spafford, who worked on past Disney films like The Fox and the Hound and Oliver & Co., as well as Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (released by Disney brother Touchstone).
