He may make bad choices when it comes to the parks, but Bob is not as much of a fool as some would think when it comes to TV. He knows spinning off networks is a bad play for some time...
WB*Discovery is spinning off channels to hide debt, and it's massive merger failure.

Comcast/NBC is spinning off channels that are shrinking and will die sooner than later. Right now, they're hurting the continuously growing profits that Wall Street looks for.

Paramount would be spinning off channels if their buyout wasn't stalled.

Lionsgate spun off Starz because it was clear that in the streaming race, Starz was going to break a leg and be put down. It's currently looking for a sugar daddy to be bought out by.

Disney's linear/TV are going along just fine. Their profits are shrinking, but not disastrously. It's still profit. And Disney can still move content from theaters to streaming to TV and back again, squeezing more ad dollars each time.

TWDC makes A LOT of money from its theme parks and cruise ships and DVC businesses, in my opinion they have plenty of money to finance their money losing movie business along with their money losing broadcast, cable and streaming business 😉
