Disney nerves?

Does this happen to anyone else? I've been planning for months, the day is finally here, I've got my tickets, ressies, ducks all in a row. I'm packed, the weather looks good, everything is great but I've got the jitters. Didn't sleep well last night, feeling vaguely queasy, can't wait to go but my flight doesn't go till tonight. I mean it's not like I haven't been there a few times before. You'd think I'd have calmed down about it by now.

I just want to relax and have a great time, but I feel like I'm getting ready to invade Normandy instead of the happiest place on earth.

Sorry for the babbling:hammer: I guess I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Thanks for all the help everyone has given me here getting ready for my trip, all the tips, humor and WDW secrets have been great. I hope to return with some dining reviews and some good pics.

I never sleep good the night before a big trip. Look at it this way, by the time you get down there and spend a day in the parks, you'll be so tired that you'll sleep like a baby your first night there! You're not alone in how you feel--I can make myself sick over a trip if I allow myself with the anticipation.

Have a great time Grumpy!

I'm the same way, I never sleep well the night before a trip to WDW. I'm just too darn excited. Looks like you are in for some great weather! Have FUN. Try to get some rest while you are there so you don't end up... well... Grumpy. hee hee.

Now that's the kind of thinking I like!:)

Good advice. My family doesn't call me Grumpy for nothing!:brick:

But a good dose of Disney ought to prevent that, and a few:snore:

I get so apprehensive sometimes before Disney trips that I start having Disney nightmares (I know, I know, an oxymoron for sure!) I'm in the parks, but nothing looks quite right, our passes have expired, the hotel reservations are lost...Relax! Things will be great! I think I just get so anxious to go that it takes over my subconscious as well as my conscious thoughts!

I do the same thing. In over 50 trips...I still can't sleep the night before, I worry if I have forgotten to pack something, or forbid I should oversleep and miss my flight. But once you step on WDW soil...I tend to foget it all and just enjoy the trip. I hope you have a wonderful time. I wish I could say I was leaving tonight...have a blast!

 That's so funny! I had the wierdest dreams last night. I am planning on surprising my family with an Illuminations cruise tomorrow night and in my dream I could not get my DH to leave Spoodles to go over to the Beach Club Marina! Not matter what I said I couldn't get my normally affable spouse to move!:brick: I woke up in a cold sweat. I know you're right we will have a blast, thanks!

I know what you mean, like there's something you could forget that you couldn't just buy at WDW! I know how lucky we are to be going at all!:D

I hope you have a great time....I always do the same thing. It's like it's too good to be true and you just can't believe it's here. I usually start about a week before I go....and it gets worse the closer I get to the trip.

I hope you have a great flight and the best time ever......don't forget to let me know if you swam in the pool....when you return.

I know how you feel. I'm the same way. Just one thing I've learned: it's ok to have a plan, but I've learned it's sometimes great to be flexable. Last time I was there I had everything planned out to the minute, but when I got there, rides were broken down, entertainment wasn't when it was on the schedule, and I found out that sometimes the best things arn't planned. It's ok to have a plan, but don't feel like you're going to be invading the parks. Just take it slow, and enjoy it. Have a great time.

Ever get yourself so worked up that you actually puke? It happened to me once when I was 9 years old. That was the first and last time it ever happened. Now, going to Disney for me is not such a big thing anymore (probably because I live so close).
