Disney needs another log flume

Doe's anyone else here think that Disney World needs another log flume? If you stop and think about it, out of all 4 parks there is only one log flume.(Splash Mountain) There have been tons of speculation (Brother Bear in Epcot, Fire Mountain in Magic Kingdom), but I think the next big E-ticket ride should be a log flume

I disagree.
I do not understand the basis of this argument. We already have one extremely successful incarnation of a log flume attraction, and it seems pointless to create competition.

i won't be opposed to another one as long as it is not a cloned version with a different theme. If they created a new experience then i would be all for it.

Hey, I'm not saying that we don't have a great log flume already, but I think Disney could use another one. Saying we don't need another log flume is like saying "We already have Big Thunder Mountain, we don't need Expedition Everest," or "We don't need It's tough to be a bug, we already have Muppet Vision 3-D". In no way am I trying to start an argument, but you honestly think a new log flume is a bad idea?

I think another water thrill ride could be successful. I also think that some other concepts would be just as successful. I do think a hybrid water ride-coaster could be great.

I don't really think those compare...I did ride Expedition Everest back in March..

If the log flume wasn't an actual wooden (plastic) log...then it might work- like if it was a little boat or something, but the theme would need to be completely different. Another water ride at the Magic Kingdom would be fun though or it could be at MGM.

Another log flume would be a good idea. But a water-coaster would be even better. I know the story must come first before anything before they choose a type of ride it should be, but I think they need to bring in something new as well.

Absolutely no point in having another log flume....It would take away some special I think from Splash Mountain....and by the way, in Disney it's not log flumes...it's log magic lol

As long as the new attraction is a quality one - with incredible theming, great music, and a good story - I don't care what kind of ride type it is. So, do I mind if the next attraction is a log flume? No. I love Splash Mountain, and I think multiple versions of log flume-style attractions could happily co-exist at Disney World. I could see one in World Showcase (Brother Bear, for example) and one in Animal Kingdom (insert idea here), but I can't really see the idea working as well for the Studios (naturally, I could be very wrong about this one).
We already know the next attactions for Disney World won't be a flume-style attraction (the two Nemos, Monsters, Inc., Midway Madness), but I agree with mitchk, there's no reason the Parks can't have more than one of a certain type of attraction. Someone didn't agree with his comparison of Everest to Thunder Mountain (which really isn't that far off. I've been on Everest, too, and I immediately came to a similar conclusion), so how about Dumbo to the Rocket Jets or Aladdin Magic Carpets or Triceratops Spin? All but the last usually have lines, and Dumbo hasn't suffered a bit from the so-called competition. So far, the arguments presented against his idea have no merit, from what I can see. If we start limiting Disney and saying they can't use a specific type of ride design simply because it has been done before, then we're severely hampering the creative process.
Good idea, mitchk...

Another log flume ride would be fine, if it is, for example, in Epcot. We definitely don't need a copy of the same ride in the same park. (Think Dumbo and Alladin.)

i really would like to see drawings/plans of what the raft ride could be like now (2006 technology) in epcot at Canada.

I too wish there was another water ride in the parks. It doesn't have to be a straight up log flume, just something where water plays a big part would be nice. I'ld like to see something really innovative done with water in MGM. Atlantis has always been on my mind but I've always thought that might be too similar to what SeaWorld has...

All I know is, a great ride could be made by WDI if water was heavily incorporated into it.

there is also kali river rapids which i love!! but the only thing is sometimes i dont like gettin quite that drenched which is part of the fun though but some people wont ride it because you deo get so wet but i have rode splash mountain

There are two fully functioning water parks. There are more than enough rides with a water theme or element (ie. Splash Mountain, Kali, Maelstrom, POTC, Living with the Land, El Rio Del Tiempo). Why do we need any more water rides?

I personally hate getting wet. There is nothing worse than spending any portion of the day with wet shoes and socks. Moisture also seems to have an effect on the toursist. Think "wet dog".

I appologize for the misspellings.

To say that they should absolutely not have another log ride is just silly .. as long as it is a well engineered and novel idea, who's to say that a water ride would not be successful. In my opinion you can never have too many dark rides either.

I agree (we Celts need to stick together) :) I always seem to be in the spot that gets the wettest!! But another new ride would be great. Perhaps with The Incredibles either at MGM or Future World.

263 days til I'm there:sohappy:

I totally agree. I somehow always get pushed to the front and get soaked and I hate it! Now if they had some log flume ride minus the water I'd be ok with that! :p
