I'm not sure if this has ever been brought up but as we can see with The Country Bears, HM, & POTC they have been turned to big movies. What I am asking is this....If you had a chance to make a movie based on the Attraction at WDW What would it be?
I have a few...
1) Figment <---Which really would be cool! (Plus it can bring back Dreamfinder or at least introduce Dean Finder!)
2) The Enchated Tiki room (You can imagine the jokes with that)
3) Space Mountain (Not sure why...try to figure a plot around that):hammer:

What's your ideas?

I think a Big Thunder movie about the flood in the mining town would be great, too! How about an X-S Tech movie? That could be interesting with the whole corruption of a giant company.

And there is the Jungle Cruise in the works right now.

I made that same joke when we were forced to see the Haunted Mansion because we really wanted to see a movie but everything else was sold out. I always thought the next viable option would be it's a small world the movie. . . same as the ride, only 89 minutes of mind numbing fun!
YAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!:hammer:

A Mummy-esque Jungle Cruise movie would be awesome...or I could see a kinda cheesy Sci-Fi for Space Mountain ;) And wasn't Mission to Mars already basically Mission: Space?

And now that ya mention it, a Thunder Mountain flick could be REALLY cool, I think. In a disaster-movie sort of way :)

There was a really scary rumor of one once, about a year ago, and if they actually made it, I would declare the creative teams at Disney legally dead. Or at least for the motion picture group. It was this stupid thing about an amatuer astronomer(because it always has to be an amatuer that discovers things) that realizes the galaxy is actually contained inside a giant conical mountain. A "Space Mountain" if you will. He also realizes that there has been the equivalent of an earthquake and that it has caused a "rockfall" of planets that are now careening toward Earth. Somehow, the President believes this total load of crap and a plan is formulated to save Earth, using the amatuer's knowledge and a team of "Extreme Sports Professionals." How any of this would possibly work was beyond me and I was very happy to learn a couple of days after reading it, that it really was just a rumor.

"Countdown to Extinction" and Dinosaur were co-developed, CTX didn't change its name to Dinosaur until after the movie.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad could be great! give it a poor town, an evil land-baron, a plucky young hero, a vengefull indian spririt, and of course, the climactic finish on a runaway mine train

How about one based on Spaceship Earth? A group of scientists travel back in time to document the great philosophers, inventors and communicators of time. Add some drama as things go awry and they have to fix them.

Mission: SPACE was going to coincide with the movie Mission to Mars but due to the movie’s lack of success it was scraped. The ride is still basically the same except for a few movie tie ins.

A Kilimanjaro Safari movie has potential.

I actually bought the DVD for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I was a bit disappointed...even though I like the Monty Python guys...I think they could've done it a better way.

How about a movie based on the Kali River Rapids...where a tourist group are trying to escape the loggers trying to destroy the forest (sounds familiar somehow).

A quick search on IMDB.com and saw no mention about Jungle Cruise or Space Mountain, which seem to be the ones most rumored about. Although I could have sworn I read about Jungle Cruise in Entertainment Weekly or Premiere.

they could release 2 movies from that ride:

one from Disney Pictures about a family on vacation who defeats a bumbling group of eeeeevil loggers and save the endangered tigers

and then one from Touchstone about a group of sexy teenagers on spring break who must fight the evil loggers and viscous tigers to the death to escape the jungle

give both films the same badguy, make it the same actor, play one version straight, the other for comedy, film his scenes at the same time to save money; reuse sets; reuse the tigers; the obnoxious air-head teen daughter could also play the sexy-with-attitude chick in other movie. I bet most people wouldn't even notice!

From Filmforce:

December 13, 2004 - Disney and Mandeville Films are moving forward on two new flicks, a remake of The Swiss Family Robinson and the ride-to-film adaptation of the classic Jungle Cruise attraction.

According to today's Variety, Mandeville, who are producing the forthcoming Tim Allen remake of The gy Dog, will start production on Swiss Family Robinson soon for a Summer 2006 release.

After some time trying to develop a contemporary remake, Mandeville's David Hoberman finally found the right take on Swiss Family Robinson by keeping it in the original period setting. The trade scoops that Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group head Nina Jacobson screened the old film for her family and sparked to the idea of keeping the film in the 1800s.

Greg Poirier (The Lion King II, Gossip, See Spot Run) then wrote a first draft about the shipwrecked Swiss settler family.

As for Jungle Cruise, Disney studio topper ________ Cook was jazzed enough about the adaptation to invite Hoberman to the park to take a ride with him. "It's an adventure film with comedic elements, but its core is almost a family version of Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness, about a group that travels upriver, in search of a significant cure," Hoberman told Variety. Josh Goldstein and John Norville (Tin Cup) will write the script.

bah! then why bother? i loved the original as a kid, it was note perfect! if the characters and setting are exactly the same, why bother? just re-release the original

i can see making the Skipper character the Jack Sparrow-style breakout character based on the spiel from the attraction. the problem is, in the ride, the jokes are corny and add to the atmosphere, but hearing them on film, you'd have another Jar Jar Binks situation
