Would htere be any chance of a Disney Mircosoft merger? Me and few friends were talking about it and it seemed possible. Disney- MSN. Microsoft it like hte AOL and Disney it the Time Warner just on a larger scale. It would help both out in many ways.

No way. Two very completly different companies. All their money would go to Eisney and Gates.
That's not fair to Gates. He didn't earn his riches by having huge salaries like Eisner. He started his company from scratch and retained ownership of it. When Microsoft became gigantic so did the value of his holdings!

I could see a strong alliance between the two companies working out. Microsoft has a license-based content delivery system (WMP) and Disney has popular content. But a full merger between the two would make no sense at all.

First off Eisner earned that money. Have you ever read about the Disney Company in the 80’s? The company assets where about to be sold off or taken over. There where only two hotels at Walt Disney World. Epcot put the company in huge dept. (park cost 1 billion dollars). Eisner came in and build resort. Got Jeffrey Kasenburg to take over the Studios. For about 15 years the Disney company was doing great. Now the Disney Company is in another slump. Don’t say Eisner did not deserve that money. Eisner – Frank and the unsung hero Roy Disney helped save the company

jcrb......... that is not all there was.

Befor Eisner took over there were three resort hotels; Contempoary, Polynesian, and the Golf resort (later the disney Inn, now SoG), There was FW with trailers you could rent or pads to bring you own camper. There also was the Villias ( recently the Disney institute, now part of a new DVC resort) and the treehouse Villias over on the east side of Lake Buena Vista by the shopping Village( now DTDs east side). Also the hotel plaza area, However not owened by disney but still on property

I don't think joining a large computer company with a large media/travel conglomerate makes much sense. Besides, people already complain that Microsoft is too large. Adding to their size certainly wouldn't help how people view them.

However, given the all the craziness in the business world lately, one can never say something is impossible.

Well, we all know how happy everyone over at AOL-Time Warner is today thanks to their merger...

Sometimes things that seem like a good idea really aren't. Back when people were talking about something like this during the big web boom, Disney stayed put. It wasn't an accident or by chance. The future of Microsoft as well as any other technology company is an incredibly fragile thing. Disney can put out a few years worth of crap movies or build some bad rides and still recover half a decade or more later. Companies like Microsoft don't have the luxury of such stability – definitely not something Disney needs to be getting involved with as I'm sure Ted Turner who has watched his personal wealth dwindle since the merger of AOL Timer Warner can attest.

I dont agree, Even including the epcot opening in 1982 there were only a few other attractions on property. MK and EC and the resorts I mentiones in the eariler post excluded, there were two golf cources(Palm, Magnolia) one water park(RC) and the Buena Vista Shopping village. It was just enough at that time. With the addition of two new water parks, Two new theme parks, expansion of the shopping village into DTD and WWoS the need for the additional resorts were warranted, in the past 15 or so years. After PC opens I think they shpuld hold off on any new faciliaties and infrastructure building and focus on the maintenance of the existing infrastructure especially the Phase I and II areas.
