Disney Maintnence (sp?)

When my Dad called Disney to make reservations at Fort Wilderness for November (I'm excited already! :) ) he got to talking to the woman who was taking his reservations. She told him some ver interesting stuff. She said that the Disney Maintanence workers, like the janitorial staff and such, are not actually Disney eployees. Those jobs are contracted out to other companies, and they started doing this about 5 years ago. The most interesting thing she said was that there is talk about Disney doing the same thing for the employees who take the reservations and that sort of staff. Needless to say, she was very bitter about this (possibly why she was telling my Dad all this, because Im sure if Disney moniters their phone lines, the things she discussed could cause her to lose her job). If they did start contracting out those jobs too, she would have to transfer to another area of employment, or else she would lose all of her retirement, benefits, etc. If anyone has any more info about this, please tell.

thats odd-i wont bet the farm but im almost positive custodial cast members are disney cast members and are paid by disney and get disney benefits like other roles.i know some jobs use contracted companies like road work and some painting but the people u see walking around the parks are(almost postive) disney employees-just a note disney does everything in their power to make everyone a part of disney verses contracting out help-they made the mistake of having an outside company for security and food vendors when disneyland first opened and quickly ensured all who where the disney name tag are controlled by disney-but i could be wrong:)
as far as the reservationists its possible but dont think that would fly-disney is very image oriented and dont think they want an outside rep selling their theme parks and hotels

this is a 50/50 situation

in guest areas, custodial is done by CM's

in office complexes, it is done by outside companies.

Maintenance, for the most part, is done by CM's and limited Union terps

I would hope that they employ Cast members in the areas where they will be involved either directly or indirectly with Guests like the resort Guests areas so they can control there image and oversee the attitude factor a contract services worker might not care about, I see where they would out source work in the areas like offices where there only contact would be with Disney support staff.
