Disney Let Down

OK how do you handle the "Disney Let Down" when you get home??? I am starting to question my judgement in picking now for our trip...meaning...I will be home all day every day all summer long with the kids and I think I am going to be hearing alot of "Im Bored...when can we go back to Disney?" just wondering how others get back into the groove of things.

I have a different way of handleing it.

I go cold turkey!

No Disney related items or news for a month. Seeing the pictures and news items makes me want to go back. I think to myself "I was just there and I miss it so much". So once I get it out of my system I hop back into the game. I find that the longing to go back is diminished in its potentency.

Thats why I have been absent for the past month.

I know it sounds crazy, but after our last trip my family and I were so down in the dumps about having to leave that I got on ebay and spent almost $20.00 on a home video that this family had made by "bootlegging" a large number of the best rides at WDW. They didn't get them all, but it's 2 and a half hours of non stop Disney World fun. It was almost all of our favorite rides and everything on one tape. It seems that no matter what time of day it is, somewhere in my house of 6 people (4 children) that tape is playing. It's kind of our security blanket! :hammer: (I told you it sounded crazy!) Oh! We also get on here and read up on what everyone has to say. This is a great support system, too! :sohappy:

The way I get my family to go back is to put music on my desktop and a picture of a disney atraction on the computer and eventually they give in..HEHE

Boy, I know the feeling, too.

On my last trip to WDW, I absolutely had to return home bright and early on a Monday morning (arggg) because of something important with my work.
So throwing myself back into work helped me get my mind off missing WDW, and wishing I was able to stay with my friends who weren't returning until that Wednesday.

Except for the dirty clothes, and stuff, I never really completely unpack when returning but manage to get to that task slowly...when I feel like it, and it's always interesting to run across some momento that got tucked away and immediately brings to mind a pleasant memory of the trip.

I love pouring over the trip photos, and showing anyone else who'll look at them! :)

And, of course, visiting here with Steve and all of you nice folks, helps out too....Thanks :)
