Hi there all! I'm new here to the forums, and just wanted to share some neat Disney projects that are currently on LEGO Ideas. I hope that this is the best place on the forum to discuss this? For those who are unfamiliar, LEGO Ideas is a webpage run by the LEGO Group aimed at gathering fan-submitted ideas for new LEGO sets. If the idea reaches 10,000 fan votes, then the project goes into review and, if approved, becomes an official LEGO set. If you are into LEGO building, you probably saw the beautiful Disney Castle set that was released late last year. If not, here is a picture of the absolutely beautiful set...
It was amazing to see LEGO and Disney team up and create a set that focused on the Parks, not just IP like Star Wars and the Princesses (Although, those sets are pretty cool, too ). Many Disney Parks fans, myself included, have since taken to LEGO Ideas in the hopes that this new foray into Parks-themed sets would allow the additions of even more attraction-themed LEGO sets. Currently, there are quite a few Disney-themed projects up on the Ideas page. Below are just a few:
Jungle Cruise (This is my recent upload!)
Big Thunder Mountain
Disneyland Monorail
Walt Disney World Park Icons
Star Tours' StarSpeeder 3000
Micro Disneyland
The Process:
All of the above projects are in pursuit of 10,000 votes. Should they achieve this, which is a feat in and of itself, they will move on into the Review stage where LEGO decides which idea to turn into an official LEGO set. If an idea gets 'the nod' from LEGO, their designers will make minor alterations to polish up the project and turn it into a straightforward build. So, in essence, the above projects are in the concept stage.
What We Can Do:
I know that the Disney fan community is a strong one, and we can do amazing things when we put our collective minds to it. I certainly don't want to come off as "spammy" or give off the vibe of a door-to-door salesperson, but I simply wanted to bring these projects to light on the blog and present them for your consideration. Should you wish to support these projects, the links are below. You don't need to pay or anything to join, vote, or even upload a project yourself. As I said before, there are many more great Disney-related projects on LEGO Ideas that you should also check out if you are interested. On behalf of myself and all of the other LEGO/Disney fan designers, thank you so much for your support, and have a magical day!
