Disney Junior: Live on Stage

So, I think it's safe to say that we can add Playhouse Disney: Live on Stage to the list of attractions getting an update in 2012 or sometime thereafter. I'm kind of excited about the possibilities for my little ones having a whole network of Disney Programming. This could lead to some nice updates to the DHS attraction. I hope they don't go the minor update route and just change the naming.

I'm excited for the network but think the branding is ridiculous – a serious misstep for Disney. The new name is going to turn off a huge portion of their audience who will now think the same shows they now watch on Playhouse Disney will be too young for them on Disney "Junior". I think kids 6 and up are going to be very turned off by this branding.

Why not just stick with "Playhouse Disney"? They've spent years establishing the brand, why abandon it now?

I certainly hope this doesn't mean the end of Ooh and Ah!

OK, there are good sides to this change. And there are bad sides to this change. The good news it that SOAPNet will be sent to the TV Cemetery. The bad news is that I am sensing a BIG lawsuit between Disney and Nickelodeon over the right of the word "Junior" in their preschool-oriented programming blacks/channels.
