I am a college student and applying for my first time to The Disney College Program and I was trying to think about what job I would like to have in the future. I know I want to work for Disney but I am not sure the type of job I want even exists. I love to design concepts for the mickey ear headbands and I have even made a handful of them for myself. Does anyone know if that type of job exists? Thank you!

Designing them would be at best an advanced internship and not just college program.

Work on your portfolio and focus heavily on heavily detailed perfection. Disney is a stickler on perfection from their creatives.

Do the CP and network intensely while there, you will have opportunities to network with the right people. Set yourself up to be THE first person on the recruiters's minds when it comes time for the advanced internship. And when you get it, show your talent, show your skill - but again, PERFECTION AND DETAIL. Disney doesn't do minimal: they do detail and perfection. If you can handle it, you'll be in a solid position to get a full time offer (no promises though).

And as someone who has been through the ringer with Disney, my advice: It may be Disney, but at the end of a day, it is still a job. You will have good days and you will have bad days. You'll have some REALLY bad days. You will run into people there who seemingly only have bad days: Don't let them turn you jaded.

As with any entry position you are getting your foot in the door. Get there first and see what’s available to you. You may not get the position you want or one thats related to what you specifically want to do. Once you are in place you have time to see more of what Dis has to offer. You very well may find something that suits you better or interests you more. As a college aged person there’s time to grow and change dreams. Where you are now may be dramatically different to where you may end up in your life. Enjoy your time at Dis and take advantage of all the opportunities it affords you.
